About this deal

Obviously you always have to consider price with any product, but for wheelie bin screens it’s especially important. This is because for effective screening, chances are you’ll need to buy more than one screen. With units this isn’t really a problem (as long as you buy a screen big enough for the amount of bins you have!) but it will be for trellising or covers. Our first choice is a very classic one, a woven willow screen that would be a wonderful addition to any garden. This traditional screen comes in various sizes, and can be used to cover one, two or three wheelie bins, so there should be a model for everyone. Set up is as simple as deciding where to place it and how to anchor it. You can easily anchor the screen into soft ground, or attach it to other fencing for more stability. The side panels are hinged for easy access, and since this is willow it's really maintenance-free. If heavy duty is your style, metal is a clear winner. It is the pinnacle of weather-resistant, durability, and strength – it beats all other materials in this area. So, if these are your priority, metal is a clear choice. However, some downsides of metal wheelie bin stores are they’re typically expensive, very weighty, and will only suit some garden designs. They may also rust if a rustproof coating hasn’t been applied, so look out for this when buying! Note: We don't ship plants on Fridays due to the extended period they would remain without light & water

The basic problem is that wheelie bins are unattractive. Many people choose to buy one of our wooden wheelie bin stores to solve this problem.Need a place to keep your logs dry this winter? While making (or buying!) a bin store, keep your logs in mind. This combination wheelie bin, recycling box and log storage unit will take up considerable space, so I don’t recommend this option for small gardens. However, it’s the go-to storage solution if you have space to spare! Venetian is a great fence panel to combine with climbing plants, as the vines will intertwine around the pales creating a green screen, which will eventually conceal what is behind. Other styles that would make good bin hiding options are Diamond and Tartan Trellis. With larger apertures, the panels offer less concealment capabilities but paired with planting they can effectively hide what is behind. What do you need to install a bin screening panel? You couldadd a green roof to your wheelie bin storage ortake it to the next level, making it a part of the landscape by incorporating a raised bed. Add some hardy perennial plants like lavender, ornamental grasses, and hostas to keep it exciting yet low maintenance. As well as this, it’s really expensive and it’s not the best value for money, considering the fact it’s only useful for screening one bin. That said, its modern and furniture-like design make it perfect for gardens that might have a patio or lots of furniture, as this will blend in nicely and prevent your bins from ruining the mood. It’s definitely good quality and will screen your bins effectively, but it’s just not got any major features or characteristics that make it a better screen than the products above.

Now you know how we made our choices, let's get down to it. Which bin covers or screens should you be looking at? Here are our top options! The Best Wheelie Bin Screens and Vinyl Covers This is definitely one of the most flexible options on this list, and it's also a very affordable one. This trellis screen doesn't need to be anchored (though it can be). It can be moved easily, or if you prefer, you can simply leave it in place and use it as support for plants whilst it still covers your bins. Planning regulations force many homes to have a shorter fence at the front of their house, so even using a solid fence panel that allows no line of sight through the panel would probably not work for hiding standard height wheelie bins. If you have a wall at the front of your house and have permission to increase the height to provide more screening, slatted fence panels are a great option as they still allow light into the house. Our Jakpost® foot allows you to install fencing onto existing hard surfaces with ease. If you want to know how to increase the height of an existing boundary you can read our blog here. Hiding bins with a wheelie bin storeOn the other hand, trellising and covers won’t be as effective in screening your bins completely, but they will help them blend into the garden a lot and make it look like you’ve put the effort in to make them look good. Covers are generally cheaper though, and are definitely the best option for bin screening if you’re on a budget. Slatted panels work wonders when attempting to hide your wheelie bins, as they conceal your unsightly bins without closing off the space, retaining your garden’s size. If you’re making a slatted panel screen yourself, keep the gaps uniform and around 18-20 mm. You can choose different woods to suit your space – ipe and teak are darker woods that work well outside, especially in more contemporary homes. In our final spot is another sturdy and reliable wheelie bin screen, but the reason it’s in last place is because it doesn’t really offer anything extra that isn’t already covered in the products above. It’s got similar attributes to a wheelie bin storage shed but it doesn’t do the name much justice, as its thin polyester material makes it more suited to act as a screen. The Selections double wheelie bin screen can help keep your driveway looking smart, keeping two plastic bins covered up with attractive willow panels.

Both screens and covers are pretty basic, so you shouldn't be too overwhelmed with features. However, there are a few things you can look for when comparing different models: The one thing that get us all with a wheelie bin is hygiene. But once that issue resolved we turn to how unsightly they are. And whilst one obvious solution is to use a wheelie bin storage, it’s actually quite difficult to justify the cost so wheelie bin screens work in the same way. As we said above, there are really two solid options here. Which one you go with will really depend on your needs, but here are the broad categories: Bin Screens

Pallet wood is an excellent material to use if you choose to create wheelie bin storage yourself, as it’s cheap, environmentally friendly, and waterproof – it won’t warp and bend so long as it’s been treated! You could fix pallet wood planks to a metal frame, like below, or secure pallets together as they are to create a rustic-looking bin storage solution. It's not impossible to erect a screen on concrete but it's can be difficult without a wall to hold it against, so that might be something to think about.
