About this deal

Sometimes, it's the little details that can make the biggest difference to your cake. Consider these special features of a cake tin: These tables are only relevant if you wish to maintain the same height as the original recipe for your cakes. Additionally, if there's a significant difference between the diameter of the cake you're making and the original one, you may need to adjust the temperature and cooking time accordingly. To calculate the quantity of each ingredient ( flour, sugar, etc.) needed for your desired tin size, you must multiply the figure in the last column (X BY) by the original quantity specified.

So why would you need a 100% watertight, loose-based cake tin? Firstly, let’s talk about putting things into the tin. The super-tight seal around the base ensures absolutely nothing leaks, even from the thinnest of cake, quiche and batter mixtures, which allows for so many more recipe choices and helps to keep your oven mess-free – and means you can use it just like you would a ‘normal’ cake tin with a solid base, if you want to. Water-bath baking Let’s be honest, making cakes is an art form, and unless you’re a natural baker, it takes a few goes to nail that recipe exactly the way the photo in the cookbook shows. That’s why, no matter whether you’re just getting into baking or you’re a seasoned pastry chef moving onto more complex bakes, you want bakeware that’s on your side. When it comes to presentation, the easy-release seal ensures your hard work isn’t undone at the final stage. Just pop your PushPan on top of a tall tin and push down firmly on either side of the collar – this will release the seal and raise up the base, with your perfectly presented cheesecake, sponge or savoury dish perched on top. The collar has no seams to leave unattractive lines in your cheesecakes, and the baked goods are released easily with perfect edges. Evenly baked results Please note that these tables apply only to round cakes of equal size or square cakes of equal size. If you need to convert round to square or square to round, please refer to the information below, which also includes egg quantities. There are times when you may use something other than a standard round or square cake tin. Examples include bundt tins or fancy ones such as trains, boats etc for children's birthday cakes. Sometimes it can be difficult to calculate the correct quantity of cake mixture for these tins, so we need to work in volumes rather than sizes. The following chart gives the volume of each size standard tin and using this, you will be able to calculate the amount of mixture you need. For pastry quantities for different tin sizes please see Pie, tart and flan tin size conversion charts Cake tin conversion charts Straight walls - A cake tin with straight walls placed at a 90° angle will result in a more uniform cake with sharp edges that is excellent for applying fondant.

Baking trays and baking pans come in a huge range of sizes for baking any cake to perfection. Recipes will typically state the size you need. A cake tin that is too small will overflow, while a cake tin that's too big may produce a shallow cake. Made from heavy-gauge, silver anodised aluminium, PushPans offer even heat distribution with no hotspots, are oven safe to 230°C, freezer safe and metal utensil-friendly. Aluminium - Aluminium cake tins are lightweight, affordable and great for even cooking. Avoid acidic ingredients as this material is reactive. The depth of a cake tin will depend on the type of cake you are baking. Shallow cake tins are great for layer cakes as they are easier to cut in half. A deep cake tin, such as Mondo Pro Deep Round Cake Pan, is perfect for statement cakes at special occasions, as well as denser cakes with high sides like fruit cake. Cake tin colour finish options and the benefits (light finish vs dark finish)Lakeland’s bakeware provide amazing heat distribution, so all your deep cake bakes will be cooked completely evenly. You’ll even see handy fill lines on the inside that indicate when to stop filling the tin with cake batter. That way, you’ll get the ultimate tin-filling rise every time you bake. And when it’s time to take that cake out of the oven and get decorating, the large handles and silicone sure-grip inserts make it easy to remove the tin without a hitch. Just don’t forget to put oven gloves on! Big cakes, small cakes, and everything in between So, if you’re looking for 6-inch cake tins, 8-inch cake tins, rectangle cake tins or some standard cake baking tins, we’ve got everything you could possibly want to perfect your bakes. What to look for in a cake tin The material that your cake tin is made from will have an impact on your cake. The most common materials include: Springform pan. A springform pan has a latch and a removable base to make unfolding your cakes fast and easy. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, bicarbonate of soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and cocoa powder until well combined.

For the chocolate cake, in a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until the mixture is pale and light. Spread the jam over one of the cakes, then spread the whipped cream over the jam layer. Place the second cake on top to create a sponge sandwich. Before first use, wash and dry your PushPan, and grease the inside and base. Insert the base with the silicone seal at the bottom, and gently push all the way down until it sits evenly against the bottom of the collar with a snug fit. To serve your creation once it’s baked, just place the pan on a tall tin from your cupboard, push down on the top of the collar to release the seal, then slide your cake from the base onto a serving plate. To clean your PushPan, gently wash both pieces in warm, soapy water, rinse and dry. Find the perfect PushPan Shape.
