Side-effects of mouthwashes were evaluated from subjects of all the 3 groups by means of a questionnaire as well as through clinical examination. Subjects returned to their habitual oral hygiene measures after the completion of the study period. Our study showed a significant inhibition of salivary microflora count by the mouthwash containing aloe vera compared to the negative control.
