This year the announcement has been delayed due to COVID-19, but today we are pleased to announce that the winner of the British Army Military Book of the Year 2020 (#BAMBY20) is Professor Anthony King for his book, ‘Command: The Twenty First Century General’. Dr. Jonathan Fennell - Fighting the People's War: The British and Commonwealth Armies in the Second World War. (CUP). Mr Craighead, who was also awarded an MBE by the late Queen earlier in his SAS career, says the book is a metaphorical story about a wolf who becomes a sheep dog. In Killer in the Kremlin, award-winning journalist John Sweeney takes readers from the heart of Putin's Russia to the killing fields of Chechnya, to the embattled cities of an invaded Ukraine. The British Army Military Book of the Year (#BAMBY) is the Army's own annual literary prize. Each year, a shortlist of books is considered by ten judges, Regular and Reserve. The process begins in January each year with the winner announced in October, and presented with the prize at the Army’s own library, Prince Consort’s Library, Aldershot in December.

A classic collection the Art of War and other Chinese military texts, beautifully presented with a striking, foil-embossed cover design. Sushant Singh tells tales that speak volumes about the path our men and women of courage took in unfamiliar territories, with limited resources.

These new translations bring to light several texts that display an understanding of strategy and warfare that still has relevance millennia after their original publication. From the 11th-century AD onward, these texts became required reading for Chinese military officers.

This collection includes seven of the most famous military texts of ancient China: The Art of War, Wuzi, Wei Liaozi, Taigong's Six Secret Teachings, The Methods of the Sima, Three Strategies of Huang Shigong, and Questions and Replies Between Emperor Taizong of Tang and General Li Jing. Games Workshop and Warhammer Forge (the fantasy division of Forge World, a subsidiary of Games Workshop) have released expansions to the 8th edition game. Expansions and Supplements may or may not be valid over multiple editions, though generally they cycle similarly to the Army Books.
