About this deal

Combining manufacturing methods from military, footwear and extreme outdoor industries, the Vertigo™ represents not only superior guitar protection, but a technological advancement in luggage design. The Vertigo™ is light, fast, sleek and rugged. Thanks to some serious design, traveling with a guitar has never been this fun. Well, we dare you to try. We build our cases to military specs, using only high-test materials with extreme resistance to abrasion and the elements. Inside, the plush lining protects delicate custom finishes. So your guitar rides first class while you launch an urban assault A second guitar is a must-have on stage or in the studio. But in transit, carrying two guitars has always been a necessary evil. We set out to design an elegant solution to this problem. Our driving criteria was to offer each guitar the same protection as our single M80 hybrid case. After a year of prototyping, the Z-form™ design was perfected (patents pending). The end result is an incredibly light weight, extremely rugged double hybrid case. A first of its kind. Go play.

So why not use a flight case all the time? We wouldn’t recommend it. These things are stupidly heavy and even more awkward than a hard case, plus they can cost a fortune.Regardless of shape, the hard case has a mortal enemy… the baggage handler. These individuals are architects of guitar destruction, always plotting new evil with which to torture instruments. The greatest of all hard cases have succumbed to these menaces, being left crumpled, broken, and unsalvageable. Fortunately, the hard case has an even tougher big brother – the flight case. Do you need to buy a flight case? Monoguitar cases and gig bags are some of the highest quality guitar cases you can buy on the market. Mono’s inspiration comes from designing and developing something that no other guitar case company had done before. 99.9% of guitarists have pulled their guitar from their guitar case without fully unzipping it, we’ve seen it hundreds of times and we still continue to do it. This is Mono’s innovative design comes in. Their guitar casesand gig bags provide a simple yet elegant solution to make it easier to transport your guitar, whilst protecting the contents with a rugged case. MONO ELECTRIC GUITAR CASES If you’re looking for an almost nuke-proof solution to protect your acoustic guitarfrom armageddon-rated mishaps, then this is probably it. SKB iSeries cases (there are models for acoustics and electrics of all shapes and sizes) are made from seriously tough, corrosion-resistant materials, and feature extra-strong hinges plus a plethora of beefy latches. First and foremost, we are guitarists, and we want other players to find the right product for them. So we take into careful consideration everything from budget to feature set, ease of use and durability to come up with a list of what we can safely say are the best guitar cases and gigbags on the market right now. The Stealth Electric Guitar Case comes complete with new and unique two-tone finish. Accompanying the water-resistant Sharkskin™ shell finish, the case now also sports a matt-finish polyurethane (PU) sheen for the complete minimal look.

Case bite usually occurs in that split second when your gorgeous guitar is not fully in the case and not fully out. It’s the midway, no-man’s land that strikes fear into the hearts of all guitarists who love their instruments a little more than is strictly healthy.

About Mono Gig Bags

The Mono M80-2G is designed to house two Guitars in Mono's unique design gig bags. The Mono M80 Gig bags bridge the gap between the protection offered from hard cases and the light weight nature of gig bags. You can trust Guitar World Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing guitar products so you can choose the best for you. Find out more about how we test. Boasting a wonderfully minimalistic and ergonomic design, this guitar case sets itself apart from the rest with a wide range of enhancements and innovative qualities. Stealth Electric Guitar Case

Complete with a plush-lined interior, you can be sure your guitar comes out looking newer than when it when in! Ergonomic Enhancements Finally, there’s a terrible condition associated with cases that has been known to make grown men cry. Case bite – the ultimate own goal.Hard cases have one major benefit, and it very much says it on the tin. Hard cases are hard! Built from traditional solid materials and shaped internally so your instrument can’t move an inch, they are undoubtedly a better form of protection than a soft gigbag. Another first of its kind, The Boot® takes guitar protection to a new level. Using manufacturing technologies from the footwear industry, the Vertigo™ Ultra bounces off of concrete like a pair of cross trainers. With its custom molded rubber outsole and EVA insole, The Boot® also protects strap pins* from those nasty vertical drops. Despite its serious design, the Vertigo™ Ultra just wants to have fun. Most players will want to take their instruments out of the house from time to time, but not every player will be taking their guitar around the country on tour. If you’re the latter kind of player, your guitar could be cruising for a bruising, so a hard case securely wrapped around its exterior is going to be a necessity – even the most durable of gigbags would struggle in this situation.

Obviously that’s a rather silly example, but it is worth bearing in mind that a hard case may be absolutely necessary in some instances, and in others it could be overkill. So, before removing or replacing your guitar, always steady the lid, or you risk damaging your beloved instrument with the very thing you bought to protect it. Case closed. How we choose the best guitar cases Designed to ensure your treasured guitars stay vitally protected whilst on the move, the Stealth guitar case retains Mono's award-winning 'Top-Loading' design that allows for easier standing access to your instrument. To prevent spills from getting through, the bag closure has been enhanced with heavy-duty zippers and waterproof zipper tape.

Here at Guitar World, we are experts in our field, with many years of playing and product testing between us. We live and breathe everything guitar related, and we draw on this knowledge and experience of using products in live, recording and rehearsal scenarios when selecting the products for our guides. Hard cases are sensational when it comes to protecting your guitars, with their resilient outer, opening to a plush, lined interior, in which your shred machine can slumber. There are typically two types of hard cases, one which mirrors the shape of your instrument – albeit more bulbous – and the other being a large rectangle. Neither is better than the other, though the shaped cases will usually be perfectly sized for your instrument, ensuring there is absolutely no movement internally from your instrument. Some of the rectangular cases will also have a cut out inside for your guitar to fit perfectly, however this isn’t always the case. Integral ABS panels deliver hardcase protection at a fraction of the weight. (MONO cases weigh in at about 75% less than their hardcase counterparts.) The reinforced outer shell of the Vertigo™ absorbs and deflects hard impact away from the vulnerable areas of the guitar. Take into account how often you currently move your instrument (or intend to) and that will inform what level of protection your instrument needs. It may be that different occasions call for different protection. Hard case vs gigbag?
