About this deal

Since I am having fun with this post, I want to share some more images of the Wargames Atlantic Skeleton Warriors. Here you can see how the miniatures look individually. This guy I used for the title image turned out great! A Skeleton Archer. I love the way these skeleton warriors turned out. They look great with the large shields. Elf dogs: there was an Elf Hunt Master miniature, but only as a special offer, and without dogs. There could be a separate box for this, but honestly, I dont think that its really needed... Northstar has some metal dog/wolf miniatures, so if the Elf Hunt Master would be released as a normal miniature, anybody could make a unit with combining them. In this post you will see the plastic sprues of the miniatures, some completed (and painted) figures, plus the Champions and Characters available to the army.

We are getting to misty parts... But there is still one clue: the book art. If you look closely at the book, you can notice, that the box arts are also included in it: double sided prints, with more, differently armed figures. But there are also such pictures, what we haven'tseen on plasticboxes. Yet... I think, that its pretty likely, that we will later! Here is a list of the double sided, box-art-like pictures from the books, with my tip on the possible sets: Review of the set, my thoughts and criticisms of the Wargames Atlantic Skeleton Warriors plastic miniatures set In direct comparison, this kit is among the cheapest options for plastic skeletons. Games Workshop's recently released Deathrattle Skeletons sit at 1,82 GBP per miniatur, Mantic at 1,12 GBP, Wargames Atlantic at 0,81 GBP, former Wargames Factory now Warlord Games at 0,83 GBP and Oathmark at 0,83 GBP as well. And with 30 miniatures per set among the ones with the most miniatures as well. So instead of an army list this book offers bits and pieces to enrich your games, play on a different (wetter!) kind of table for a change and play campaigns. Battlesworn was the first expansion to be published and anticipation was high on my account. I expected an army book on one of the missing races, like Undead, but instead got something else entirely. The heads were okay, but I tought I could improve them even further. Games Workshop covers as part of their terrain range a well filled set of plastic skulls (340 in total!) for about 20 GBP. I took a few of these and used them instead of the original ones, and I am more than satisfied. Especially those with the loose jaws really bring it home. I hear you asking, what is in the box? Well, let’s take a look. What is in the Wargames Atlantic Skeleton Warriors Plastic Miniatures Box Set?

Before starting, I want to thank Osprey Games for giving me permission to use images from the book, and for sending me a review copy of the game. Also new sets for the future include Orc Line breakers, Human Militia/ rangers, Human Heavy cavalry, and the possibility of war machines, and a new dragon. If you are interested in how the different races play, and how to build your models as “What you See is What You Get,” Must Contain Minis has articles for you! Oathmark Review The book also contains three Military Expeditions. These are actually ready-to-play mini-campaigns of up to 4 scenarios that come with a few unique territories to be won.

As an Undead fan who started the Warhammer hobby in the late 90’s, I already had the GW kits on hand. For the purposes of this article I bought one sprue of each kit from other manufacturers. It makes a lot of sense for wargamers to look at miniatures available outside Games Workshop when they’re looking for gaming pieces. Early on in my hobby days I often wondered how I could fill out an army without paying the GW tax for their ‘premium’ models. There weren’t many options at that time, and finding them could be difficult. Today however there are a variety of models available. Mantic recently released Ancient Egyptian styled skeletons in their Army of Dust, they look neat, but don’t really fit the flavor of this article. Games Workshop: 1988 Skeleton Warriors First plastic skeleton warriors with metal command. Source: Undead Army Book by Games WorkshopI like the way Mac's mix of Dark Age Irish bits and halflings works out, and I think the upcoming WA Dark Ages Goths set looks like it'll include some great bits for halflings as well: the head-swaps look much better than I expected! Grumpy Gnome suggested using the WA Persians as a source of odd gnomish hats, which sounds like a fantastic idea, and I think they'll work great on your project. The Persian bows and quivers can probably be adapted to work on the Halflings, with a little work. Those are a lot of components, but if you are buying these to fulfill an army, keep in mind those tallied numbers. If you want large numbers of Skeleton Archers, this might not be the kit for you. If you want a bunch of Skeletons with some decent options, this very well could fit the bill. Miniatures Built with Wargames Atlantic Skeleton Warriors Box Set This is going to be part of the new 28mm plastic kit which will support the Oathbreakers expansion. In that book ( which we looked at earlier in the week) you'll find options to introduce the undead into your Oathmark campaigns and these miniatures can make up the bulk of that force.
