Product Information

We have tested the following chemicals to use on our ProGuards to keep them looking great and shedding mud:

snap-off top holes to fit braces between the seat stays whether they’re straight, raised or dropped (including those with supporting struts) The best guards are the longest and work at all speeds. If you’re riding slowly, mud comes off the trailing edge of the tyre and is thrown upwards, but as speed increases it’s thrown further forward and you eventually ride into this spray. Having a mudguard that covers the full arc of mud trajectory is the best option. Any other chemicals other than what is listed above should not be used on the ProGuard mudguards as it will likely remove the gloss finish. PROGUARD FEATURES INCLUDE:You can also change the height of the mudguard by 6mm through the slots for more clearance. NOTE: Highest position offers the most stability with the best mud clearance The ProGuard range of mudguards have a matte textured finish with gloss highlights on the logos and centre strip. The underside features a smooth lightly polished finish for better mud flow. The ProGuard from RRP is a rigid polypropylene guard that comes in two sizes – standard and maximum. The standard is pretty big and offers plenty of protection, but the Max is 21mm longer at the front and 68mm longer at the rear so really ups the ante. It has a three-point fixing via the brace and fork lowers. There are 24 crown holes for zip-ties allowing it to accommodate a wide range of brace sizes and shapes and it’s compatible with 26in, 27.5in and 29in forks and (RRP claims) tyres up to three inches in diameter. The extended side mouldings also help protect the fork seals. To fit the Pro Guard, you do have to punch out some tiny holes, which is okay but there is a bit of trial and error getting it set to the correct angle. The Max size can also move a bit when riding hard and when sending it off a drop there was often a hard crunch as some part of the guard bottomed out on the fork/tyre. That said, if you want to ride 60mph through a peat bog and stay dry, this is the guard we’d recommend – dirt doesn’t get in your eyes, on your clothes, no matter how wet it is or how fast you’re going. Easily the best guard on test. Select the correct bolts for your fork (details below) and run these into the threads WITHOUT the mudguard which will 'PRIME' and clean the threads before fitting, this part is important (YOU MAY NEED TO RE-TAP THE THREADS IF DEBRIS / PAINT IS LEFT IN THE THREADS FROM THE MANUFACTURE OF THE FORKS) BOLTS: FOX = M3 (2 bolts) | OHLINS = M4 (3 bolts) | SR SUNTOUR = M6 ( *1 bolt)

Max is 70mm longer and offers incredible coverage and levels of protection, especially for high speed racing long 24g (without cable ties) MAIN DISTRIBUTORS UK EXTRA UK FRANCE TRIBE SPORT GROUP NORWAY DELER AS REST OF EU NOW COMPANY USA AND CANADA RECIPROCATORS Important - If you have a brace between the seatstays - you must attach at least one cable tie to it if you don't have a brace between the seatstays - you must use 3 cable ties on each arm cable ties are provided with each mudguard, the holes on the side arms are mandatory requiring 4 leaving the other 2 for the fork brace (although more could be added if desired) The ProGuard range of mudguards have a soft high gloss finish which is a characteristic of our highly polished mold and our special polypropylene mix, this unique mix has been specifically blended for:Squeeze the side wings of the mudguard hard and slide under the fork brace from the rear with the wheel and tyre still in place

Finally tighten the bolts to the torque settings below: TORQUE SETTINGS: FOX, MARZOCCH & OHLINS = 1nm | SR SUNTOUR = 2nm You should be able to locate the mudguard and let go as the rubber side pads should hold it in place (ensure the slots are centrally aligned to the threaded holes on your fork)
