About this deal

The built-in thermal control automatically adjusts brightness output to prevent overheating. The "6" in the IP68 rating represents the level of protection against solid objects, specifically dust and foreign particles. It indicates that the Q8 Plus flashlight, is fully protected against the entry of dust and other solid objects. The "8" in the IP68 rating indicates the highest level of protection against water ingress.

The Q8 Plus flashlight with 24000 lm is an extremely high lumen output and offers an incredibly bright and powerful beam of light. 76729 cd represents an extremely high level of brightness for a flashlight. The throw is the calculated distance in meters at which the flashlight produces a light intensity of 0.25 lux. The cd/lm factor (candela-to-lumen ratio) provides information about how concentrated or focused the light output of a light source is. A higher cd/lm ratio indicates that the light is more concentrated in a specific direction, while a lower ratio indicates a more diffused or spread-out light output. Software Firmware Note: All regulation measurements are taken at turn-on so they do not reflect any thermal or low voltage stepdowns that may occur. A value of 0 indicates low voltage shutoff immediately upon activation.

The Sofirn Q8 Plus flashlight is powered by 3 x 21700 Li-Ion batteries. The battery indicator lets you know when the battery is low, charging, or fully charged. This flashlight can charge the battery with an integrated charger, and it works with a USB power source. This flashlight has a built-in low voltage protection (LVP) to prevent damage to the cell from over-discharge, so protected cells are not necessary.

I will say that compared to the Sofirn Q8 Pro (which I reviewed a year ago yesterday!), the build quality of this Sofirn Q8 Plus is much better. That’s not to say the Q8 Pro is bad (it’s not!) but the edges on this Plus version seem to wear better. Brighter: Q8PLUS will be brighter when using HD Battery, the battery link is https://www.sofirnlight.com/products/sofirn-1700-4000mah-10c-40a-hd-battery-made-of-lishen-lr2170la-cell Smarter Indicator: with green/ blue/ orange/ flashing led indicator to inform us about changing modes or charging status The ANSI runtimes were only as good as they were due to the fact that there is a ton of immediate drop in output before that 30 second mark. If it were based off of the initial output, the higher mode runtimes would be SIGNIFICANTLY shorter, like, in the 5 minute range. On a surprising note, this is the first time I have seen a set of runtimes with over half of the modes running over 24 hours. Yes, this meant it took a while to get these runtime tests completed, but not having any specified information directly from Sofirn meant I didn’t know exactly what to expect, ergo, the TESTS MUST CONTINUE!! (Sorry, I am a dork) I find that these fin edges to have anodizing that’s a bit frail. Just a bit of usage and the anno will probably begin to wear off. Below you can also see the stainless bezel. This bezel has a bit of shape, and that’ll allow light to escape when headstanding.

While the link above shows there’s just one version available – there are clearly two. All other things are the same, but the listed version is 6500K, while my review copy is 5000K. That’s a great difference (as I’d say 5000K is much better!)

Long Runtime: With the Q8 Plus features extended runtimes; up to 40 days at 5 lumens, an incredible 27.75 hours of runtime at a very useful 200 lumens. You no longer have to worry about power outages. The switch is configurable, according to the manual. You will need to be in Advanced UI to configure the switch! The performance of the Sofirn Q8 Plus flashlight is measured according to the ANSI / NEMA FL1 Standard 30 seconds after switching the light on. The ANSI/NEMA FL1 2009 Standard is a set of flashlight performance guidelines.Modes:Simple and Advanced UI both have manystandard and blinky modes available, but the main modes are stepped and smooth ramping, but stepped ramping is only available in Advanced UI, and smooth is enabled in both Simple and Advanced. First, the table for Either User Interface. These actions work whether you’re in Simple or Advanced UI. State
