About this deal

Finally, the Chestnut C2 comes in four color options, three dark and one light. That’s for you, fashion lovers. The Timemore C2 Coffee Grinder Isn’t For You If… You Live And Die By Espresso The excellent build quality of the C3 further contributes to its portability. It’s not just about size and weight; a grinder also needs to be durable to stand up to the bumps and bruises of travel. The aluminium shell of the C3 is very sturdy, and its etched texture makes it immune to scratches. Price 4/5

For an occasional shot, the C3 is a great budget option, but if espresso is your main focus, consider one of the espresso-specific grinders we’ve recommended below. Build quality 4.5/5 We strive to ensure that your delivery arrives safely to you, but we understand that sometimes accidents happen outside of our control. The Timemore C2 manual coffee grinder is perfect for turning your chosen coffee beans into exceptional grounds that are ideal for Aeropress, pour-over and other popular filter brew methods. Premium Grinds Quality You only brew espresso: Though versatile, the C3 is definitely designed primarily for pour over brews. If you mostly find yourself pulling shots of espresso, opting for a grinder designed with that in mind makes sense. Two of our favourites are the 1Zpresso J-Max and the Kinu M47.Timemore makes even smaller grinders if portability is a top priority, the Slim Plus and Nano. But smaller grinders also have smaller capacities. The Slim Plus holds 20 g of beans, and the Nano only 15 g, whereas you can fit 25 g in the C3. This is worth considering if you want to brew more than a cup at a time on your trip. I took the grinder apart to have a closer look, and it appears that they have a special geometry that accounts for that aggressiveness. There’s a lot of bite to them. The interior design also helps with a rapid feeding of beans. The burr set is very sharp and aggressive. In addition to the stainless steel burr set, the main body of the Timemore C2 is aluminum alloy, which is a nice blend of durability, aesthetics, and a lightweight feel. For espresso, the fine grind setting allows for a shot with a bit less body and flavor, though still with well-defined tasting notes. Whether it’s fruity, floral, or nutty, each note comes through cleanly, without too much muddling. A BUDGET GRINDER - Comes with stainless steel conical burrs in a decent 38mm size, TIMEMORE CHESTNUT C2 FOLD provides a pretty consistent grind in an affordable price for anyone interested in pour over coffee!

As long as you don’t want to make espresso every day, you can rely on the C2 to perform consistently, thanks in no small part to the burr set build quality and stabilizing dual bearings. Released following the original Chestnut C2, theC2 Max boasts all interior stainless steel parts, including the grind adjustment wheel – as well as an increased capacity of 30-35g due to its larger body. Ideal for bigger brew methods and faster grinding through larger doses. The burrs remain the same sharp 38mm conical burrs. Timemore C2 Hand Grinder w/ Titanium-coated Buurs In terms of build and aesthetics, very little has changed between the C2 and the C3. The exterior, handle, and inner mechanics are all the same. Its 45 mm overall diameter is pretty comfortable for most hand sizes. The only difference is that the dial indicator has been upgraded from plastic to steel on the C3. Burr quality 3.5/5When using lighter roasts, I like to grind finer as my results are better. For medium and dark roasts, I recommend using the coarser end of the ranges. Overall, the C2 coffee grinder is fantastic value for money and highly recommended as an entry level option, a travel companion or as a dedicated filter coffee grinder. The base C3 features the same aluminum dial as the C2 Pro. This gives the base C3 a significant edge over the base C2. The C3 was envisioned as an improved version of the C2, and little design fixes like this showcase that well. Burr Quality

I’m not sure if the plastic is something you need to worry about – besides for aesthetic reasons. It seems well made and is not exposed to excessive force during regular operation. I have no qualms declaring that, together with 1Zpresso Jx, this is one of the fastest hand grinders on the market. Despite its more modest appearance, it’s a lot faster than Lido 3 and the Comandante. Consistent enoughIn the manual, Timemore claims that it also has espresso settings, and while it technically can work, I wouldn’t use it for that. The range is quite narrow, so you’ll encounter problems when trying to dial in shots. Also, the burr’s geometry means that it doesn’t have much traction in the particular range, so it takes forever to grind a typical espresso dose. But if you’re new to hand grinding and just want something to make your morning pour over extra special, the Timemore Chestnut C2 is a great choice.
