I was quite disappointed to see that visuals have not necessarily been upgraded even slightly since last year either, especially with objects pop-in being so obvious. For now, the 120 Hz mode seems to be the best way to play the game if your TV supports it. There is a reason why with Forza Motorsport 8 I went 'oh cool a grid payout feature' and that's it. Besides 'wow a bunch of montage footage no wonder I'm not interested they won't show me anything actually exciting and blink in and out the tuning in the trailer then the extended gameplay I had to see what they'd done' XD Though the more they did tell me the more I got less interested. Cough online required aside. The new generation of WRC game is upon us with the launch of EA Sports WRC (not the catchiest of names). This new rally game will be the official WRC game moving forward, with the license being taken over from previous developer Kylotonn. Ride 4 didn't impress (fair ideas, but hard/impossible even on easy for me to play the AI are too professional not matter the cornering, the settings I gave up after many hours of trying) enough so Ride 5 not interested really (if like Ride 1 & 2, 3 & 4 were changes and 5 is like 4 in a way so nah pass) if it's similar so little racing games I care for of current gen (besides little care already for it of other titles right now and just playing PS4 versions or PS4 old games right now besides retro games for older consoles). NFS open worlds (or any open world racing) aren't for me. GT7/Forza Motorsport haven't interested me.

Personally, I didn’t like the latest games in either of those series. Dirt Rally 2.0 was so hardcore that it took the fun out of rally games, and Dirt 5 is unrecognizable as a rally game. Option to increase subtitles size. Includes colour blind settings for people with deuteranopia, protanopia, and tritanopia. Roughness if it's not too bad I don't mind even if it does matter. But yeah some details will be a bit disappointing. VR would have been nice for sure. So I don’t know if I’ll like this game or not. Especially now that EA has their microtransaction-y hands all over it. Should you come loose, you have a number of options. One, you can attempt to doughnut your way into facing the right direction. (If you have somersaulted from a lofty peak, this becomes a pretty steep challenge.) Two, you can reset your car's position, with a time penalty. And three, you can quit and enroll in the Rally School. This helpful mode teaches you the basics: juicy starts, off-throttle oversteer, deciphering the arcana of pace notes, etc. The best tests of your resolve are the Regulation Rallies, wherein you uphold an average speed for the stage, and are penalised for exceeding it. It's as though the game were balancing a biscuit on your snout and telling you to wait. EA Sports WRC will feature 18 official WRC locations and over 600km (370 miles) of challenging terrain on asphalt, gravel, and snow, with over 200 stages at launch - more than WRC Generations' 165 special stages.
