The Mario Kart 24V Ride-on Racer has three forward-driving speed settings to go up to 8 MPH, along with authentic sounds from the Mario Kart series. There’s even an adjustable seat that grows with the driver. I'm not a theme park person in general, but I was willing to give Nintendo a try and was cautiously looking forward to the California opportunity being a bit more achievable. Good for the fans who get to enjoy it! Since it’s hard to tell without seeing it in person, many are wondering what this new ride is actually like. Let’s go over how the ride system, Augmented Reality technology, and game mechanics work together, to let you play a video game in real life on the Mario Kart ride. Throughout our journey around the course, we pass through settings taken directly from the games. Some of the scenes include Dolphin Shoals, Twisted Mansion, Grumble Volcano, and Rainbow Road. Different parts of the ride see us facing off against different characters from Team Bowser including Bowser and the Koopalings.You’ll race other guests through iconic Mario Kart courses, toss shells, spin out of control, and shed a tear, knowing that your childhood has come to life. This is one of the two biggest attractions, both of which showcase digital screens outside of them with their projected wait times. I peaked wait times for “Bowser’s Challange” as long as 150 minutes, and briefly as short as ~50-60 minutes. I waited an hour and a half for my turn.

Oh, and by the way, the food is actually not bad! (This opinion may have been aided by the fact that I was ravenous by the time I finally did eat.) The Singulari HOTEL & SKYSPA– Attached to the train station is a fantastic hotel for those who want a comfortable, clean, and stylish place to sleep. After a long day at Universal Studios Japan, the rooftop sento (public bath) is excellent for unwinding and relaxing.
