TexanSansei you can't just "that's just my opinion" your way out of a terrible opinion; DKR is an absolute classic with a game type all its own never copied, and arguably beats MK64. And yeah the bosses are hard AF but that's part of the appeal because it's a proper challenge. McCall, Scott (September 28, 1996). "N64's U.S. Launch". Teleparc. Archived from the original on October 12, 2015 . Retrieved September 29, 2015. Nintendo of America eventually released a set of transparent Nintendo 64's with different colors. The colors were given unique names including grape, watermelon, fire, smoke, jungle green, and ice. Additionally, Nintendo released a special gold Nintendo 64 for the launch of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Worms Armageddon and Gauntlet Legends deserve to be on this list, I think they are waaaaaaaaay too many Mario Party and ISS games (one per franchise, come on people!) pushing out unique and brilliant games absolutely worth a shout!a b Cochrane, Nathan (1993). I just had a problem with that "first time" statement, they definitely made mistakes with the powerglove, power pad, that weird headset, and like I said the virtual boy was a huge flop right before the 64 release

The Nintendo 64 went through a few name changes before its release. When developers started working on it they gave it the code-name ‘Project Reality’. It was later named the ‘Nintendo Ultra 64’, in honor of several toys made in the 1960’s such as the ‘Ultra Hand’, although this name was shortened to just the ‘Nintendo 64’ as Konami held a trademark on the name ‘Ultra Games’. I adored the exploration and refinement of the new 3D, third person action game that the original Banjo nailed (along with it's unique Rare charm), it was the sequel that turned me off by forgetting to make it interesting to play — I'll admit I didn't give that one much of a chance, though (was busy with other things in life at the time, I guess). Donkey Kong 64 I played through to the end and that felt like indulging in a sort of masochism. The beginning and the very end were great, though. Interesting about the mod, though! However, the low output of new titles and the expensive prices of N64 games compared to PlayStation ones (due to the latter's use of cheaper and larger-capacity optical discs) ultimately led to Nintendo losing their lead in the console market in favor of Sony, prompting Nintendo to switch to optical discs for their next console. But I suppose it's time to man up and try out the other top titles - Banjo-Kazooie might be a good first 'new' game to try

As well as the different colored consoles, Nintendo also released some special edition versions of the N64, including two blue and one orange Pikachu editions, as well as a Pokémon Battle Set version, a Jungle Green edition to commemorate the release of Donkey Kong 64, and a Gold edition exclusive to Toys R Us stores.

off the list is surprising even though it wasn’t one of my favorites. I get why it’s low on this list but Pokémon Snap is another one that shouldn’t be skipped. The fact that Star Wars: Episode I: Battle for Naboo isn't on this list is a joke. It's essentially another Rogue Squadron game without the name, and it's the best game based on Episode I. a b c d Fisher, Lawrence M (May 6, 1995). But even so, great article, it was literally like a cliche video montage in my head as I had flashes of so many awakened memories. I had no PS until the reissue tiny PS1 came out, so my first resident evil game was RE:2 and it is still one of my favorite memories of my younger days. I must've beaten that game 20+ times with both characters. With the early "mercenaries" type mode...tofu man square, H.U.N.K.... a b "Main specifications of VR4300TM-series". NEC. I feel like most of these games are ranked way too low, but then again this is a top 50 games, so I guess I should be grateful so many of my favorites are on here. But seriously, Ogre Battle 64 needs to be higher.

Never saw this list, but boy am I pleased to see that Mischief Makers has a fairly good spot on this list. I was always under the impression that it had become one of those obscure cult classics rather than one of the more memorable N64 games. Couldn‘t agree more, the fact that they hit the nail on the head with what was basically the first 3D platformer is unbelievable. It is one of my favorite games of all time because it is still so fun to play. Every game developer that makes 3D games needs to play through it at least twice (and I hope this is the case!). Not so sure if those sports games and wrestling games even really deserved to be in the top 50...But for the most part you had some really solid games on the list...probably would of been a different top 20 for me...but pretty solid choices for the top 10 Il y a 20 ans, la PlayStation sortait en France". www.gamekult.com (in French).
