XIAOMI All Models 12 Pro 11 Mi 10 Redmi 9 Note RFID Real Leather 100% Handmade Wallet Phone Case Folio Book Cover Free Keyring HandyHüllen Generally I don’t use a macro lens all that often, though the one found on this device is perfectly serviceable, as can be seen in the photo below. On the GPU side, a 3DMark Wild Life score of 4,086 blasts past the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite and its Snapdragon 732G on 3,120. But that’s still quite a bit short of Snapdragon 888 devices like the OnePlus 9, which tend to score in the region of 5500. Ads: I did see ads while using the phone. Most of the time, they would appear after installing a new app. I also saw a few POCO/Xiaomi ads pop up in my notifications. These were annoying but not as obtrusive as I expected and didn’t show up elsewhere in the UI unlike some equivalent Redmi devices.

It has Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and rear, so the phone feels fairly premium. You even get that super-reflective, fingerprint-attracting finish that flagship manufacturers seem to love. But the F3’s sides are pure plastic, albeit one that diffuses light in a vaguely metallic fashion. A cover is a must when buying a new mobile phone. And although most manufacturers already deliver one of these covers with their mobiles, it is not uncommon to buy an additional one, which better suits our needs when it comes to protecting the phone from bumps and scratches . POCO F3, a beautiful mobile to protect The screen is one of the standout features of this device. Not only does it have an AMOLED panel, measuring in at a healthy 6.67-inches with a Full HD+ resolution (that’s 2400x1080p), but it also offers a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, 900 nits typical brightness, and a 360Hz touch sampling rate. Before covering tech, I was a "traditional" journalist, writing features in print newspapers — remember those? — and magazines for outlets such as the New York Times, Sports Illustrated, Wall Street Journal, South China Morning Post, among others. The camera module is led by a 48-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultrawide, and a 5-megapixel telemacro lens. Generally, I found images from the main sensor to be bright and punchy, with decent though not brilliant levels of detail.Around front, the Poco F3 adopts the typical all-screen approach, albeit with a slightly larger chin than some and a dead-flat display. Another giveaway that you’re dealing with a less-than-flagship phone is the central punch-hole camera, which has a slightly off-putting shiny surround. We wouldn't call the Poco F3 a two-day phone unless your use is way less intensive than ours, but we think for most people it should get through one day just fine - although if you spend most of your time out and about on mobile data, the screen on time numbers will inevitably drop, and the more the phone hunts for signal in bad areas, the more they will go even lower. That's just the usual disclaimer, we were very happy with the Poco F3's endurance overall. Moreover, the 5G modem means that it can access the very latest mobile data standard, not only giving you superfast internet when you’re away from the Wi-Fi, but also giving you peace of mind that it should last you for some years to come without falling too far behind newer models.

In my time with the phone, I saw about five hours of screen-on-time, which is perfectly reasonable. That got me through a full day and then about half of the next. That was with 120Hz on all the time, by the way. While there are a couple of minor disappointments – the camera is acceptable but not awesome, and the software is a bit clunky – these don’t take away from the fact that the Poco F3 is one of the best lower mid-range phones around. Those who keep an eye on parent company Xiaomi’s skittish global release strategy will understand why that is. The Poco F3 is essentially a rebranded Redmi K40, and it also sports a nigh-on identical design to the Xiaomi Mi 11i. It’s the same phone, partially reconfigured for different markets and price points.
