About this deal

Furthermore, in the case of an RCA use with several devices, a GND/LIFT switch allows to cancel the noise that can be generated by ground loops. The LIFT position allows you to use the ground of the connected equipment instead of the A30 Pro.

In the middle of both devices are their respective headphone outputs. However, the L30 only has a ¼” headphone output, while the A30 Pro has 3 different output options for convenience. Both devices are riddled with vent holes on top of the device, but the vent holes on the Magnius are primarily used to show the power LED, while the A30 Pro’s holes are for heat dissipation. And this is the main reason why I bought it because I can use it with my lower power headphones and have perfect volume control and clarity. On the side of things like the Magni you can honestly not get over 3% volume with most IEMs. Which not only means you have no actual volume control but at that setting on the pot it's often that you will have a channel imbalance. The first thing I noticed was the size of the device. It is smaller than most of the DACs I reviewed on Headfonia. It is much smaller than the Topping D70s and it is also slightly smaller than the SMSL SU-9. It is not a heavy device either. The form-factor impressed me.However, the presentation of the mid-bass is a touch colder on the SH-9, especially in contrast to the punchier, and more hefty drum hits that the A30 Pro produces.

Topping A30 Pro | Headphone Reviews and Discussion - Head-Fi.org

Just tested both, i find A30 pro sounds more interesting to me, A30 pro has more punch on low frequency, a little bit smaller soundstage, but from my point of view, a30 pro is more enjoyable and more emotional, just IMHO,i will stay with d90 + a30 pro. Both amplifiers achieve a deep low end, reaching down deep into the sub-bass region. Going into the mid-bass region, both of them have about the same mid-bass quantity. The A30 Pro induces a wider and more expansive soundstage into the mix compared to the HO200, but the imaging presentation is more blurry and dispersed comparatively. Treble is about equally emphasized on both amps, where neither amp tends towards being too bright. To achieve this result, the 2 amps implemented slightly different solutions. Where the SH-9 has a more glossed-over treble response, while the A30 Pro is more controlled and naturally reined in. I started with my usual Ether CX 25 ohm headphone with balanced connection. The A30Pro had no trouble driving this headphone with incredible power and authority with zero sign of strain or distortion.

I bought this amp and it's coming soon. Will it have enough power to drive he6se? Apparently magnius is same power in balanced but I read somewhere that they were maxing out the volume high gain balaced on magnius with the hifiman.

Topping A30Pro Review (Balanced Headphone Amp)

The rear of both devices is similar, where there are inputs for RCA and a pair of 3-pin XLRs. However, the A30 Pro has a pair of pass-through outputs, for both RCA and a pair of balanced ¼” outputs. Also notable is that the A30 Pro has a ground/lift switch at the rear, while the SH-9 doesn’t have an option for eliminating ground loops. Full-sized headphones: Hifiman Susvara, Hifiman HE1000SE, HE400SE, Audeze LCD-4, Erzetich Phobos, Erzetich Mania, Kennerton Wodan, Magni, Gjallarhorn, Vali, M12S, Quad ERA-1, Ollo S4X Reference & others I'm not saying that all rob said is the truth, but it's logical that shorter signal path = increase transparency. Also logical that using single ended amp provide higher quality of each audio parts inside, because use much less components. Oh wow! 0.73 watts using such a high impedance? This is wonderful as it means you don't need to use balanced connections to get enough power to drive high impedance and inefficient headphones. Low and medium gains have identical performance and incredibly low noise floor with no clipping. So if you hear distortion there, it is in your music.if I get this one A30 pro, connected to XRL balance, but the output for balance is TRS, and want to connect to AVR (denon) only RCA would be ok? IEMs: FiiO FA9, FH7, FH5S, FD5, Meze Rai Penta, Rai Solo, LittleDot Cu KIS, Hiby Crystal 6 & others DACs: Audiobyte HydraVox & HydraZap, Matrix Audio Element X, Gold Note DS-10 Plus & PSU-10 EVO, Gustard X26 PRO, Gustard X16, Topping D30 PRO
