A new and revolutionary way of monitoring humidity levels to provide effective ventilation in domestic properties all year round. That occupancy time is determined by how long the fan has been in use from a light switch or pull cord. The less time the fan is active, the less time it will overrun when it’s switched off, meaning less energy wastage, less heat loss, and less frustrating night time running. What is TimerSMART? Greenwood HumidiSMART™ provides humidity controlled ventilation without nuisance running (in the middle of the night!), unnecessary heat loss and energy consumption from homes. It activates ventilation in response to man-made spikes in humidity only because it works with the 'real time' installed environment and knows exactly what the normal level of humidity is at any given point in time. It then uses this as its base line to look for spikes. As of today this doesn't happen - the light comes on but what I now have to do to get the Airvac on is to pull the 'stump' of the pull cord that protrudes from the edge of the Airvac - then it will switch on.

In my house there is a small shower room - the ceiling mounted extractor fan is a Greenwood Airvac (can't seen a model number but it will be at least 10 years old). The Greenwood CV2GIP Extractor Fan uses SMART technology for a more efficient and environmentally friendly extractor fan.
