About this deal

I've had five very happy and productive years with the GF7 - doubling up for the last 12 months with the GX800.... such clever little cameras to my mind the best "second camera" for any M43 owner. Taken with GX850 in the last week. Olympus f1.8 24 mm . Great for street photography. It's a quiet speed demon and focuses better than any of the okympuses I have tried (penf, em5 mkII , other pens). this is an example of panny losing their way .... a viewfinder is essential.. this crippled camera without ibis of a vf is a pointless waste

The Panasonic Lumix GX880 continues to feature a 16 million pixel Four Thirds sensor, a flip-up 1040k-LCD screen, Wi-Fi connectivity and a range of 4K Video and Photo modes. Of course they cannot exaclty rival DSLR APS-C image quality, but it astonishing when you realize it's a camera which weighs a measly 200g. Recording stops when the continuous recording time exceeds 29 minutes and 59 seconds with [AVCHD] in [FHD/25p] [FHD/24p] and [MP4] in [FHD/30p] [FHD/25p] [HD] Europe.

OlyPent - an intuitive interface has nothing to do with the manual. It's about workflow, how you present the options, etc. Yes, the Panasonic is certainly more intuitive at many things than the Olympus. Above: Here are 40 or the 60 images grabbed during the two second 4K Photo burst. I pushed the button roughly halfway through this sequence so had I been shooting in a conventional mode, I’d have missed the point of initial take-off. By capturing 30 images before and after the press though, 4K Photo has provided a wealth of images for me to choose from. You can extract as many as you like, with each being recorded as a new 8 Megapixel JPEG. Recording stops when the continuous recording time exceeds 5 minutes with [MP4] in [4K] and [4K PHOTO].The list goes on and on. I started on Olympus 4/3rds with the e-volt e-300 DSLR. As Olympus added more they didn't pause for really cleaning up. The UI now is a mess to change some settings. The name Fujica may sound peculiar to some but earlier FUJIFILM cameras were marketed with the Fujica brandname. And since the arrival of Fujifilm X100 ten years ago, Fuji has been creating rangefinder style cameras (which still remind me that Ronson Variflame lighter) as the ones they had been producing in the Sixties. The GX850 wheel is better than the GM1's. As for the flip screen - you need to think of it also as an articulated LCD which is what it is- many want that, and that outclassed the GM1. In some cases, it outclasses the GM5 (though the GM5 keeps the EVF). Using the remote control, it is possible to capture selfies while jumping with the Jump Snap function. The smartphone held by the subject detects when they are at the highest position and the camera automatically releases the shutter. More GX850 shots... I find the overall speed of the camera in responding to changing settings is key to get the tool out of the way when taking photographs on the street with a lot of potentially fast changing conditions.

DPR did not mention that 4K movie is limited to FIVE minutes, and if the ambient temperature is high, it would be even less. shutter speed is 60 seconds and there's also a Bulb option for exposures up to 4 minutes long, which is excellent news if you're seriously https://www.google.com/search?q=leica+m&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwip3cSn6vPTAhVBKiYKHYllDVQQ_AUIDCgD The camera uses an electronic shutter over 1/500s, which is worth noting when shooting in artificial light. The shutter is very quiet. The screen is very clear and has good viewing angles, with additional controls that can be found on the screen.

For advanced users, the LUMIX GX880 is capable of developing RAW images inside the camera. In addition to the colour space setting (sRGB/ AdobeRGB), the parameters for white balance, exposure compensation, contrast, highlight/shadow, saturation, noise reduction, and sharpness can be flexibly adjusted and LUMIX’s Photo Style, Intelligent D-range Control, and Intelligent Resolution can also be applied. Silent Mode This mode switches the shutter from mechanical to electronic and turns all sound (AF, operation) off while suppressing the emission of the AF assist lamp and flash with just a single setting for special shooting occasions. AC/USB Power Charging Use a card with SD Speed Class with "UHS-I UHS Speed Class 3 (U3)" when recording motion pictures with [MP4] in [4K] or [4K PHOTO]. Detail is resolved well, with the overall impression being fantastic throughout the sensitivity range up to around ISO 12800, while even at 100%, detail is impressive at the lower sensitivities. From around ISO 3200, if you examine at 100%, you’ll begin to see some smoothing in certain areas of the image, giving a painterly feel, but so long as you’re printing or displaying at normal sizes, or not subjecting images to extensive crops this shouldn’t be an issue. ISO 12800 is usable if you’re printing or viewing at very small sizes, but it’s best avoided. ISO 25600 renders images pretty much unusable, leaving a very smoothed and muddy style of image, but it’s there if you’re absolutely desperate to get a shot. Panasonic's core customer for this camera is the casual user seeking a carry-everywhere-cam for documenting friends or family. This user is someone who prefers a selfie-screen to an EVF and favors ease-of-use and compactness. ..."

At its core the GX850 represents a combining of Panasonic's style-oriented GF-line with the ultra-compact-oriented GM-line and replaces both the GM5 and GF8. However, its most similar sibling currently on the market is the larger, EVF-sporting GX85. Key features: Above: You can extract as many images as you like during Post Focus, so here’s one from the same capture, except this time I’ve tapped on the most distant part of the image.
