About this deal

As I said in the content warnings there is exhibitionism and BDSM included in this book. So please this is another warning before you jump in. I really enjoyed how this was intertwined into the book and it didn’t feel out of place at all. Not only did it explore the relationship between Hades and Persephone more, but it also introduced some very interesting characters. And I’m intrigued by this and looking forward to seeing where it’s taken in the future. In terms of spice, Neon Gods has some steamy scenes but it’s more romance than erotica. Like they are described in some detail, but they are still on more of the tamer side in my opinion. Most of the spice in those scenes is in the build-up to them rather than the acts themselves. Once it gets to the actual sex most of the descriptions go out the window. It’s kept pretty basic and tame. Nothing wrong with that, but if you’re looking for something more descriptive this isn’t the book for you. And considering this book is about sex since that’s a major plot point, it seems almost odd for those things not to be described in detail. Not to mention there aren’t many sex scenes. Maybe I’m more used to Ruby Dixon’s works now that have a lot more sex scenes in them. But it’s just a thing to note going into this book. Hades is badass don’t get me wrong and he won’t take shit from anyone – but Persephone turns him to pudding and it’s just fantastic to witness. I also loved that everyone around him just watched it happened and laughed.

Since the Neon God can be considered as representing the lifeless modern way of life, it is possible that it is the modernity the Scarlet King is fighting.I blink. It's so close to what I was thinking that it's almost eerie. "You are the strangest man I've ever met."

Neither expect infamous beauty Helen Kasios to be part of the prize, nor for the complicated fire that burns the moment she looks their way. I find that I sometimes struggle when delving into a new world, but I never felt out of place here. I always knew what was going on, what was happening and how things looked. As well as struggling with new worlds, I sometimes can’t imagine how the world or characters look. And while I did have a little trouble at first, it wasn’t long before I was pretty comfortable with where I was. In the city of Olympus, people only speak about Medusa in whispers. She’s Athena’s knife hand, the one sent when Athena wants someone to disappear. No one asks Medusa what she wants, but she owes Athena her life, and if staining her hands with blood is the only way to repay the debt, it’s a small price to pay.Got it? Now imagine you find that book—the one you dreamed about—delivered right into your hands. And boom, you have my review for Neon Gods by Katee Robert. Not convinced that you need this book in your life yet? Alright, let me elaborate. On one condition: when it's all over, and Apollo has the ammunition he needs to protect Olympus, she and her sister will be allowed to leave. For good. I’m new into the steamy/ smut book territory, but would love some more. I tried getting into ACOTAR but have been struggling. And that’s nothing to say of the incredible development of the romance in Neon Gods. Robert somehow strikes the perfect balance between steamy scenes, kinky goodness, and genuine love and affection in Persephone and Hades’ relationship. And the chemistry between these two is ridiculous. Ridiculous, I tell you. I get shivers just thinking of their interactions. SHIVERS.

Zeus may have decided Helen is his to give to away, but she has her own plans. She enters into the competition as a middle finger to the meddling Thirteen rulers, effectively vying for her own hand in marriage. Unfortunately, there are those who would rather see her dead than lead the city. The only people she can trust are the ones she can't keep her hands off-Achilles and Patroclus. But can she really believe they have her best interests at heart when every stolen kiss is a battlefield? What starts out as a mutually beneficial deal—Hades will grant Persephone safe haven and she in turn will do everything in her power to make Zeus jealous about her new alliance…and romance with Hades, his bitter rival—turns into the love story of a lifetime as the protective walls these two have built around them crumble and the world’s grandest power couple is born. With no options left, Persephone flees to the forbidden undercity and makes a devil’s bargain with a man she once believed a myth. Hades has spent his life in the shadows, planning his revenge against Zeus. Until Athena sends her after Calypso, the mistress of the rich politician Odysseus. Calypso is beautiful and cunning and she’ll do anything to keep her life—including seducing her would-be assassin.Like the Scarlet King, the Neon God bears resemblance to the Idea of Evil from Berserk, being a living idea that affects reality created by humanity's dark desires. I love Hades and Persephone together in most retellings, but the romance in this one really does stand out. They are sexy, adorable and hot together. I pretty much smiled throughout the whole book because of these two. They were brilliant together and made the reading experience even more enjoyable.
