Donald decides to avert this so that all Silos live. In 2049, freshman Congressman Donald Keene is recruited by Senator Paul Thurman for the CAD-FAC (Containment and Disposal Facility) project, ostensibly an underground repository for the world's nuclear waste to be constructed in Fulton County, Georgia. Donald, who has an education in architecture, is tasked with designing a self-sustaining shelter, a Silo, that will be built near the CAD-FAC for facility workers to use during emergencies. Donald wakes up Thurman and tells him he knows it’s only 200 years before Thurman plans to kill them all. Thurman believes only one silo should survive. Thurman wants the knowledge of the world ending to die with them. Donald shoots Thurman.

Solo heads down to supply and finds a warm flashlight. He freaks out because this means he is not alone. Merriman gives Troy the handover. Troy is nervous to take over because he wasn’t trained to run the silo that runs the others. Merriman mentions there’s fracturing in the other silos.Jimmy’s father gives him the key to the silo. He takes Jimmy to a bunker and then leaves him to go and find Jimmy’s mother. Dust is the third and final arc of the series, and is contained in a single book of the same name. It concludes the stories begun in Wool and Shift. Mission is able to hand deliver the note even though he’s not supposed to have access. Rodny gives Mission a note in return which reads “Help me.”

Chronological Order of Wool Books

Production on the serialization of Wool was announced in 2012. After development was begun by AMC, the project was moved to Apple TV+ in May of 2021. Wool: The Graphic Novel (2014), with Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray, illustrated by Jimmy Broxton, ISBN 1-47784-912-2 Donald's narrative is interspersed with early events in Silos 17 and 18. In Silo 18, the Great Uprising touches off and is quelled with the removal of its ringleader, Mrs. Crowe. A young revolutionary named Mission has his memory wiped, becomes a compliant citizen, and is permitted to start a family. It is implied that Mission is an ancestor of Allison, Holston's wife. In 2312, a rebellion in Silo 17 results in it being terminated by Silo 1, leaving Jimmy Parker, the son of the Silo's IT head, as one of a scant few survivors. Jimmy renames himself Solo.
