Many guitarists have been looking to get on board with digital modeling and rig reduction using pedals, but have been limited by the price when it comes to the high end units, and the perceived quality of the cheaper products. Now Donner has come out with what we think is a fantastic little pedal at an incredible price. Before connecting the Arena2000, make sure that the volume knobs of OUTPUT, XLR, and PHONE are turned to the minimum.
The Arena 2000 does include amp simulations that are suitable for bass guitar. The pedal features 12 different amp models, including models of classic bass amps such as the Ampeg SVT and the Fender Bassman. This device complies with part 15 of the FCC rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions (1)this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. There’s neither scope nor space to list every amp, effect and cab included in the Arena 2000, nor to provide a detailed how-you-use-it guide here, but suffice to say the operation is simple, and will be likely intuitive to anyone who has used modeling amp and/or effects units in recent years.

The default presets are not the best, which is a con for the pedal. After the adjustments, you can get some great tones out of the pedal, but the navigation and adjustments with the standard controls take some time.The processor has a 3.5” TFT color screen on the front panel that shows the effect modules and helps navigate through different parts of the pedal, such as tuner, looper, effects, amp and cab models, and more. However, the screen is not a touch screen which would have made everything so much easier when navigating or shaping your tone. The pedal is controlled with standard touch controls next to the screen. There are Comp, FXA, Drive, Amp, Cab, EQ, Ng, FXB, Delay, Store, System, Drum, Exp, Tuner, Loop, Ctrl, and Output touch buttons to shape your tone. As with most multi-fx processors, Donner Arena 2000 also has a built-in tuner. You can access the tuner by pressing the touch tuner button on the pedal. MIDI Warning: If the pressing force is too light, the MAX position may trigger the On/Off switch by mistake.

Plus, there are A, B, and C stomps and assignable footswitch expression pedals to use while playing. The A, B, and C stomps help go through presets, and when you press two of them simultaneously, it changes the band to reach different presets.
