About this deal

Bear in mind that there’s a trade off between speed and precision. As you increase your print speed, you might see a fall in the quality of your 3D object. Both the Creality Ender 3 V3 SE and Ender 3 V2 Neo include automatic bed leveling with the Creality CR-Touch sensor. Automatic bed leveling improves the reliability of your 3D printer by probing the bed height in a grid pattern before printing, ensuring an accurate first layer. This results in improved print quality and greatly reduces the possibility of printing failures. The Ender 3 Neo requires a substantial amount of work to assemble, even though Creality ships it partially assembled. Out of the box, it takes at least an hour to assemble and set up, and may take longer if you are not experienced with 3D printers.

Both printers use a standard hot end that is not a full metal design, meaning that the nozzle temperature is limited to 260 °C like previous printers in the Ender 3 series. The build platform can heat up to 100 °C. These are sufficient temperatures for printing most standard materials, including PLA, PETG, and ABS. These temperatures also allow for TPU, but the Bowden extruder setup makes printing with flexible materials more difficult, and we recommend choosing a printer with direct drive like the Ender 3 S1 if you are looking to print flexible materials. Alongside, it also ships with Creality’s new proprietary Sprite full metal dual-gear direct drive extruder system that helps minimize common flexible printing issues like poor retraction, jams and clogs in the PTFE tubing, while also improving filament control and feeding. Print Bed Like a lot of the extrusion-type printers today, the Ender-3 V2 Neo’s default filament is PLA. But it’s also compatible with PETG and ABS. For this particular set of prints we had power outages unfortunately, which the Ender 3 V2 Neo recovered from owing to its power outage recovery features (discussed further in the next section!). The print quality would have been smoother without these issues most likely, and when it had an uninterrupted run, the print quality was high. Resume Printing – Print Resume / Filament Run-Out SensorThe Ender 3 V2 Neo similarly upgrades the Ender 3 V2. By and large, the V2 Neo offers the same functionality and features as the V2, with the biggest improvements being in terms of ease of setup and ease of use. Creality has made an effort to make this 3D printer as beginner-friendly as possible. In fact, it might just be one of the easiest 3D printers to get started with in its price segment. At 60 mm/s, the print on the left turned out practically as perfect as can be. When we increased the print speed to 90 mm/s, we noticed some slight stringing between the holes of the drain, but overall it was still a pretty solid print and still came out very circular. Aside from a 5°C bump on the Ender 5 Pro nozzle temperature, the two printers are identical. Both are suited to the most common 3D printing materials – PLA, ABS (enclosure required for the best results as ABS requires a stable thermal environment), TPU, and PETG. Though if we did this again, we would tweak the print settings to cover for the layer gaps and holes, you can clearly see from this layer height test that you get notably better results at 0.1mm, with less prominent layer lines – which the Ender 3 V2 Neo handles without too much issue. The biggest addition in the Neo series is automatic bed leveling as a standard feature. Creality has now made their CR-Touch automatic bed leveling system the new standard among low-end 3D printers by installing it on both the Ender 3 Neo and Ender 3 V2 Neo. The CR-Touch probe automatically probes 16 different points on the bed to identify potential unevenness on the platform and uses that information to automatically adjust the bed during the printing process.

Looks and construction-wise, the Ender 3 V2 changes from its predecessor with a sharp, sheet metal injection and plastic panel design, doing away with the low-cost look for a more cohesive finish that gives it an extra touch of class. The PC-coated flexible magnetic spring steel build plate on the Ender 3 V2 Neo offers excellent adhesion and a hassle-free usage experience. A little flex of the bed material is all it takes to separate the 3D prints. The smooth bed surface requires little to no cleaning. However, the bed surface is more susceptible to damage than other materials, and it can be difficult to remove prints in some cases. This comes in handy if you have a large collection of models but the names are difficult to discern the models from. There are a few other minor differences between the Ender 3 Neo and Ender 3 V2 Neo, which are not dealmakers or dealbreakers in themselves. Still, they are some nice-to-haves for the more premium model. These include an integrated toolbox and belt tensioners, which add to the improved usability and polish of the Ender 3 V2 Neo. Bed handle. I think these are the same as for other Ender 3 models with the same sized bed, but it's nice to have a way to easily manipulate the bed without having to touch the surface. https://www.reddit.com/r/ender3v2/comments/y5p4uh/update_sprite_extruder_on_v2_neo_problems_and_my/ There’s a 32-bit mainboard (below 50 dB according to Creality, a built-in toolbox, print resume function, belt tensioners, and a new UI with a print preview function. Looks wise, the Ender 3 Neo benefits from a facelift, borrowing the same sharp, full-metal gantry design found on the Ender 3 S1. Ender 3 S1

Both the Ender 3 S1 and Ender 3 V3 SE are fairly easy to assemble, requiring you to put together only a few prebuilt pieces. The entire Sprite extruder and Z axis beams are pre-assembled on the Ender 3 V3 SE, and just need to be mounted to the base of the printer. These printers typically take 10-15 minutes to fully assemble. Build Volume But that wasn’t enough, we wanted to know what happens when you crank up the print speed on the Ender-3 V2 Neo right to the top. As the Neo name implies, there are plenty of new features here. There’s automatic bed leveling courtesy of Creality’s CR Touch system, a full-metal Bowden extruder, and a flexible PC spring steel magnetic build plate. Both come with well-guided instructions and it’s a case of attaching the gantry and plugging in a few cables. The Ender 5 Pro is arguably a tad more challenging due to the design of the printer, but we’re talking an extra few minutes for most people so hardly a major difference. The Ender 5 Pro should suit those looking for a standard budget printer with a more vertical build volume to print larger prints. It has enviable upgrades, not least the metal extruder, 32-bit mainboard, and a unique design.

We’ve also found direct-drive extruders to greatly improve the overall reliability of the 3D printer. Bowden extruders are more likely to cause jams in the hotend than direct-drive extruders. We have extensive experience with fixing these types of failures, but we’ve seen far fewer of them on 3D printers with direct-drive extruders. This is the most meaningful upgrade on the Ender 3 V3 SE. Compared to the Ender 3 V2 Neo, you’ll see higher reliability, faster print speeds, and an improved ability to print flexible filament on the Ender 3 V3 SE. Strain Based Z Offset calibration Other than being a better all-round and quieter board than previous Creality’s electronics, the V4.2.2 also includes a bootloader, allowing you to easily upgrade the firmware. On previous Enders, upgrading required a laborious process involving a third-party single-board computer like an Arduino. This is all much easier here and both machines score points in that respect. Price We also have to mention the recently launched Ender 3 Neo, the tenth printer to join the Ender 3 line-up. The Ender 5 Pro extra 50 mm on the Z-axis gives you a bit more room to print taller objects. Max Nozzle and Bed Temperature

3D Printer Creality Ender-3 V2, 2020 Upgraded 3D Printer with

If you’re new to 3D printing, the Ender 3 V2 cuts down that initial learning curve a few pegs but keeps the core Ender 3 spirit of tinkering and upgrading to get the very best out of the machine. It’s an iconic printer refined, adding even more value to an already affordable machine. Ender 5 Pro Ender 5 Pro Specs Klipper does not work with the Ender 3 v2 Neo display out of the box. It is possible to wire the display directly to the GPIO of the Pi and run some additional software to have an interface similar to the original although some people go without an interface on the printer at all and just use a phone or tablet as a temporary or permanent UI. Both are screaming out for an ABL upgrade, either BL Touch or CR Touch, so a worthwhile mod to make as soon as possible. As far as I can tell, the PTFE tube and coupling is basically the same as other Ender 3 printers and the Creality replacement kit (with Capricorn tubing) worked fine for me.The most interesting aspect of the Creality Ender 3 V3 SE is its price. With an MSRP rivaling Creality’s lowest-end machines, but with a feature set matching that of their higher-end models, the Ender 3 V3 SE feels like an unbeatable value in 3D printing. The Ender 3 Neo and Ender 3 V2 Neo share many similarities. In fact, both 3D printers received some of the same upgrades from the previous generation of Ender 3 printers, such as: So we brought out the classic speed test tower. In this test, the printer starts printing this model at a low speed and gradually increases print speed as it goes higher up the tower. For every 12.5 mm increase in height, the print speed increases by 20 mm/s.
