About this deal

He didn’t even have his eyes open as he responded. “Because you don’t give it to everyone.” His cheek rested against mine, that sweaty chest did the same as he said, “And I don’t plan on sharing you.” Those are some of the ones I annotated but by god at the start of the book there banter and jabs at each other were too good to be true also, jasmine is super unlikable. i get the whole ‘im tough because ive had to work hard for what ive earned, even when people put me down about it.’ but goodness, girl. theres no need to be a massive jerk to literally everyone in your life. tone it down a bit.
and the last point is, as someone who has been involved in competitive figure skating on both an athletic and coaching level, i appreciate the effort zapata put in to represent the sport accurately. there are a lot of things i thought she got right about it, but it still makes me cringe every time when having to read someone explain a sport they have obviously never participated in. even though i expected as much, it was still difficult to ignore. This is, yet again, another crusty-on-the-outside-soft-on-the-inside romance that Mariana Zapata serves us and – with the risk of repeating myself – I honestly believe that it’s one of my favourite contemporary romances ever. As Jazmine and Ivan continue to train and compete together, their relationship evolves. They start to develop a genuine friendship, which eventually blossoms into a romantic connection. However, they are both hesitant to admit their feelings, fearing that it might complicate their professional partnership.

Because I knew what that felt like. And I’d already screwed up enough with making grown adults I loved think they weren’t important. If I was going to do something, I wanted to do my best and give it everything. Jasmine has to deal with this kind of harassment and unwanted attention for years and years, and she decides not to tell anyone about this situation because she doesn’t want to trouble them – because it’s not big of a deal. I'm disappointed, even when I shouldn't because I told myself to not to have high expectations just because of the hype... See? I never learn. And probably I never will. Jasmine Santos knows that feeling. Mariana Zapata captures that anxiety, and that’s why From Lukov with Love feels like a breath of fresh air. It’s not a love letter to figure skating, nor a tirade against it (the beautiful sport that it is). Jasmine is unbelievably real, and in this romance novel, she gets the chance to grow as a person. Whatever happens, he mouthed to me. But then his lips kept forming words. Three words exactly. I love you.”Oh, yes, I’ve had traumatizing skates. Haven’t we all? I’d fall on my very first double-salchow, and it would all be over. Every skater knows that stomach-dropping feeling as vividly as anything. You are who you are in life, and you either live that time trying to bend yourself to make other people happy, or… you don’t.

Well, Mariana Zapata’s novel From Lukov with Love has a little more introspection, a stronger relationship to reality, and healthier (learned) coping mechanisms, but the concept is the same. Enemies-to-friends-to-lovers. Slow burn. Patience and understanding. Attitude and perfectionism. Tension (lots of tension) thawing into romance. I highly recommend this to those who likes: enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, sports, slow burn, and especially HEA. Just bring your armors: patience and understanding. Jasmine Santos and Ivan Lukov are introduced as two highly skilled figure skaters who, due to unforeseen circumstances, find themselves forced to become partners. As they embark on this challenging journey, they must confront their individual fears and insecurities. Through their shared experiences on and off the ice, they learn to overcome these obstacles, ultimately discovering the strength to admit their feelings for each other. A Slow-Burn Romance & Heartwarming Love Story Take a picture, it lasts longer,” Ivan drawled all of a sudden. I blinked and thought about glancing away but decided that would look even worse. Her story ends with an epilogue. I won’t spoil it, but Jasmine finds her place in the world, and it includes a career in figure skating with which she’s made her peace. More than peace. Jasmine is happy, and she’s happy because she is simply herself, and she has found her version of success. She understands that she deserves unconditional love, with no stipulations and no strings attached— from her family, from her boyfriend (a total babe), and from herself.

From Lukov with Love by Mariana Zapata Summary

If you are using “but” as a connector, it is considered that we are erasing the compliment by default. We can use other connectors like "and" or "in addition to that" or anything else according to your common sense that is appropriate for the situation and won't cancel your praise. i think the characters blinked so much they just couldn't open their eyes to what was right in front of them Jasmine is a failed figure skater, ever since she moved from the junior to the senior level of competition, she hasn't been as successful. No one will partner skate with her and the judges don't like her because they think she has an attitude problem (spoiler alert, she does). One day she gets asked to partner skate with her organization's most successful skater- who just also happens to be her arch enemy.

Sports are not just for entertainment. We can also learn many life lessons from them. We can see the author trying to tell us an important lesson from figure skating. If you haven’t read it yet, there is still plenty of time to do that. It’s super easy to read, the story flows and the characters are to die for. Jojo: SHE DIDN’T TELL US FIRST THO. What is the point of being related if we didn’t get the scoop before everybody else? LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO – this turned into a Favourite Ivan Moments list. Okay, I swear I love Jasmine too. She’s one of my favourite heroines, everything she says and does is iconic.

i know mz's smut scenes are bad... but pls, ma'am, i'd rather you leave it out of the picture if you're gonna write such traumatising one line smut scenes <3 Podría incluso decir que este es mi libro favorito de romance. There, I said it. Se que es un claim bastante denso de hacer, mucho más viniendo de mi que soy un total romántico empedernido, pero es que de verdad este libro fue perfecto. No le pongo ni un solo pero. First off, our main character is straight-up awful and I don't think I've ever disliked a figment of someone else's imagination so strongly in my entire life. I'm guessing that the author's intention was to make her firey, snarky, and no-nonsense, but she definitely missed the mark. Jasmine is- satan. And yes, most definitely has an attitude problem. both jasmine and lukov were just really immature icl. i just didn't like either one of them much, and while there were moments i tolerated jasmine she was also... very annoying B1: You said Ivan and Jasmine were too old. I was there, you totally said it. *sniffs*. Why are you doing this to us? *wails*

When Ivan needs a new partner, it’s the chance that could make Jasmine’s career. Plus, it’s becoming more and more clear that Jasmine is running out of options. Every day, her world is getting smaller, and retirement looms closer. For so long, she’s struggled to balance her life as a skater and her love for her family. She’s given so much of herself away for goals that sometimes feel empty. In my opinion, physical books, e-books and audiobooks are all crucial in the reading process of an individual. Each one has its own pros and cons. I think it is absurd to compare them. From Lukov with Love” is a standalone novel that showcases Mariana Zapata’s talent for crafting compelling and heartwarming romances. It is a story of growth, love, and following one’s dreams, making it a must-read for fans of contemporary romance and sports-themed novels. Detail About From Lukov with Love Only in figure skating, and maybe gymnastics, could you be considered ancient at twenty-six years old." He wouldn't know I didn't really read. I borrowed audiobooks from the library, but that was as crazy as I got. “ A thought came into my head and made my stomach churn. “Why? Are you planning on having kids any time soon?” be forewarned!! anyone who liked this book should DEFINITELY NOT READ THIS REVIEW bc it has a lot of ranting against some people's favorite characters.)
