Additional characters were added as DLC via the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass starting with Wave 4. Characters added include Birdo, who was added in Wave 4 with nine selectable colors, Petey Piranha, Wiggler, and Kamek, who were added in Wave 5 (with Wiggler being playable in the series for the first time since Mario Kart 7), and Diddy Kong, Funky Kong, Pauline, and Peachette, who will be added in Wave 6. Overall thoughts: 4/5. The wheel feels great and solid for the games that it works with. I recommend using the clamp method vs. suction cups to prevent sliding. A lot of fun for racing fans, and having analog pedals cannot be understated enough for feel and control. The controls do provide a bit of a learning curve, but are fairly rewarding. The ability to remap any buttons, and change the dead zone/sensitivity to 7 different levels is nice. It also works on PC using XInput, which is cool for those intetested. All characters in the game except for variants (besides Champion's Tunic Link) and Miis can be used by CPUs. Each of these characters have four different combinations of vehicle parts that they can use as CPUs. These combinations are listed below. December 18, 2013: A new trailer for Mario Kart 8 is shown. Rosalina and the baby characters are confirmed to be playable characters. While purists may accuse Mario Kart 8 of being a opportunistic rehash, Nintendo's goal was to give the Switch a racing game that is fun, polished, filled with content, and able to showcase the Switch's hybrid nature. Additionally, the designs of the courses in the Booster Course Pass are based on their designs from Mario Kart Tour, and N64 Kalimari Desert's second and third laps are based on the variant Kalimari Desert 2 from this game. The Booster Course Pass characters reuse their face icons from this game. Kamek's voice clips are reused from this game. Many Mii Racing Suits included in Wave 6 come from this game.
