At 2.6 oz the Nootle is lightweight and compact, easy to stuff in any bag while on the go. Manfrotto Universal Smartphone Clamp The accessories attach via two additional GorillaPod arms, giving you complete control over positioning. There are also additional cold-shoe mounts for adding on extra accessories and even a GoPro style action camera mount. The Saramonic Aluminium Smartphone Holder also comes with an aluminium tube grip that you can use to give you some extra stability. On the bottom of this grip is another ¼” screw mount so you can screw it into a gorilla pod if needed. When it comes to quality photographic supports, it is hard not to mention Manfrotto. The mount is designed to use a spring-loaded mechanism to clamp your smartphone and attach it to a tripod or camera mount when shooting stills and videos. Unfortunately, the low maximum height makes reduces the number of situations you can use while on the move.
Regardless of the kind of photos or videos you plan on creating, you’ll need to make sure the tripod you’re considering offers a secure fit – you wouldn’t want to drop your iPhone mid-shot. As for many other mounts, a ball head is required for maximum flexibility in phone orientation and composition. The Gorillapod 1K is ideal for smartphones and lightweight compact and mirrorless cameras. The Joby GripTight Mount is the perfect accessory to mount your Android devices or iPhone on this tripod. While the legs are made of aluminium there’s still a fair amount of plastic in its build. While it may not be quite up to pro standards it’s more than sturdy enough to stabilise your smartphone, and can even be used with compact system cameras

Building quality is great and the tripod is strong enough to support cameraphone mirrorless, point-n-shoot, 360 cameras, action cams up to 1 kg (2.2 lbs). The Glif is a tripod mount that will fit most Smartphones. It has an unusual design in that you slide your Smartphone into it rather than clamping it around like most Smartphones. The Glif will work with Smartphones with a maximum width of 86.4mm which will cover most makes and models. The PIXI Smart boasts a Universal Smartphone clamp, with multiple 1/4 ” thread attachments. The tripod fits almost all smartphones currently on the market. The iStabilizer Smartmount is a similar tripod mount to the Square Jellyfish mount. It has spring loaded arms that will fit around a Smartphone of up to a width of 90mm. This should fit around most large Smartphone’s that have a case on.
Despite the very simple and minimalistic design, the building quality is top and it feels solid in your hands. Once unfolded, a spring-loaded mechanism allows it to extend and clamp your phone. The grip is solid and feels safe. Cell phone tripod mounts allow you to mount your phone on any photographic tripod. Joby GripTight Mount The Ztylus is fully adjustable. You can expand the adaptor up and down which will give it a comfortable fit around most designs of Smartphone. This universal approach is good as you may replace your Smartphone but you will get many years use out of the Zytlus. At the bottom of the Ztylus is a 1/4”tripod mount. So if you tire of hand-held you can mount the Ztylus to your favourite tripod. This is useful as it means you don’t have to take the Ztylus off and replace it with another adaptor. The Ztylus is made of a durable plastic that should put up with most wear and tear that you can throw at it. But be aware there are limits to what it will put up with. A metal design would have been good but would have pushed up the cost and added weight to the adaptor.Capture night shots. Even if an app lets you open up the shutter on your smartphone camera for a long time, without a good source of support, all you’ll get is a blurry image. Mounting your phone on a tripod means you can shoot long exposures, without worrying about image blur caused by camera-shake. You may also want to take note of what tripod head is used. This is the top part of the tripod that the smartphone mount attaches to. The grip is so strong that the Nootle can be used in combination with a Grifiti mounting bar, to take your phone with you on your bike. One of my personal favourites is the Ulanzi adjustable Smartphone mount with cold shoe adaptor. This tripod mount is made of solid aluminium alloy and incredibly robust. It is fully adaptable and will fit all models of iPhone.
The Ailun Mount does not have a spring-loaded arm, but a screw-driven one, which makes clamping the phone securely a slightly longer process with respect using a spring-loaded mount. Made of premium grade ABS, the GorillaPod tripod and its compact ball head can support devices weighing up to 2.2 lbs. The 235AB’s smartphone mount will accommodate Apple’s entire range of handsets. Meanwhile, an included iOS and Android compatible Bluetooth remote allows for easy selfie and group shots. Initially created as a universal mount for the iPad, Grifiti soon creates a smartphone version of the original Noolte. The mount has two spring-loaded arms that clamp your phone diagonally. Every phone within 5 and 7.25 inches in diagonal will fit in the Nootle. The Saramonic SR-BSP1 Smartphone Holder is my number one choice out of this list and the Smartphone adaptor I use the most. It is made of solid aluminium and feels indestructible. An adjustable screw goes through the whole adaptor that will fit around most large Smartphones.Joby are well known for the tripod series called GorillaPod. These are flexible tripods able to wrap around pretty much everything and copes with any kind of rough surfaces. The included handgrip will screw into the ¼” screw mount on the S1 and is made of a sturdy aluminum. The S1 itself is made from plastic but feels robust enough to handle most situations and will hold your Smartphone firmly in place. Shoot panoramas. There are apps that will stitch together a rudimentary panorama. But the results you get will dramatically improve if you use a tripod, especially one with a dedicated panoramic head.
