About this deal

Thanks to its preset pressure function, you can adjust it to your desired levels and the unit will inflate and switch off on completion. It also has a handy memory feature that remembers the last programmed tyre pressure, reducing inflation time and making it faster and easier to get all four tyres up to the correct pressure levels. Night time use with the RAC830 is safer and easier thanks to the LED light. Includes three adaptors for inflating sports balls and other small inflatables. Comes with a storage case. If you need air at the side of the road either drive to a garage if its just low or change the wheel.

Away from a petrol station I still used a foot pump. I once bought a cheap air compressor to inflate tyres but it was too noisy. I felt inhibited from using it at home on the driveway in case I disturbed my neighbours. So I got rid of it. Yesterday I had another look at it and tried inflating the van tyre .. no good it wouldn't work.. so I called Ring Technical help.. 0113 2132000 strokes of the best pump could add 12psi, but don't forget that the tyre being inflated during the test was an ordinary car tyre and that only relatively low pressures were involved. It would be completely unrealistic to expect that pump to be capable of inflating one of your motorhome's tyres from 0psi to 69psi with 288 strokes. (Even if it could, that's still a helluva lot of strokes.)

Good features included long air hoses and power leads, which make positioning the compressor much easier – cordless devices were even better. We also noticed that some higher power models attach directly to a battery’s terminals, which is an advantage when you are either inflating or deflating a tourer’s tyres because of the close proximity of the leisure battery. The 2.4m length of the battery connection cables, plus the 7-metre (extended) length of the air-line, should allow any of wheels of most motorhomes to be reached if (as Keithl has mentioned above) the pump is connected to a Ducato’s engine-compartment ‘jump start’ points. Below are the three Inflation Adapters included for inflating balls, airbeds, paddling pools, etc.: Inflation Adapters

As it stands though I’m more likely to reach for my more convenient battery-powered pump when it comes to squeezing a few extra PSI into my tyres. It measures psi (pounds per square inch), BARs and kg/cm 2 Carrying Bag For The Air Compressor RAC900 But while the speed is great, niceties such as a digital gauge, an auto-stop function and lights, are conspicuous by their absence. On the plus side, you get a 7m-long coiled hose between the compressor and the screw-on tyre-valve coupling, and the compressor itself can be up to 2.4 metres from the battery, thanks to long power leads that clamp directly to the battery’s terminals. Unfortunately that’s where the similarity ends, because with this Ring RAC700 the compressor-mounted gauge, standard-length air hose, and 12V plug on the power lead are all much more like the budget DIY models on our test bench. It's about 2ft long and takes up more space than a compressor but really easy to use IMO no leads to move around. also use it on the bikes !

With that I have no trouble in lifting the odd few psi up to 65 that I might encounter when out and about.https://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/12v-van-tyre-pump-recomendations-please-/49906/

Once connected, the LCD screen indicated the PSI on my Citroen C1’s front right tyre in a matter of seconds. Target adjustment was another painless process as only the middle dial needed to be turned for me to reach my desired PSI target. It would be difficult to remove dirt from inside the connectors, so keep dirt out of them. Once inside it may prevent them sealing when coupled. This is one of thearguments againstthis device. Connecting The Air Compressor RAC900 To The Car Battery To Give It Power See images of battery connections below: The Compressor’s SpringClips Connected To The Car Battery RAC900 30 Amp Fuse (Cover Removed) WARNING: Tampering with the safety valve or hose connection at the compressor is likely to invalidate any guarantee and may introduce safety issues so I will not recommend it.I connected the pump and switched on.. the gauge pressure shot up.. but no air was going into the tyre.. Puzzled, I had a look and found that there was no pin in the inflator connector to open the tyre valve.. so air could never go in.. With the RING Automotive Air Compressor RAC900 the hose is attached by screwing the brass Schrader valve attachment onto the valve until it seals against a sealing ring. The valve attachment has a push and turn mechanism to allow the tyre to be deflated when the pressure is too high while the compressor is still attached to the wheel valve. The compressor comes with an instruction label attached to the pipe but it may rip off easily.
