About this deal

ROBOCOP comes to 4K Ultra HD ™ with Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos in Limited Edition and Steelbook Packages, from Arrow Video, on 28th March 2022 . If You previously have purchased the Blu-Ray edition, I would advise waiting for the standard 4K release of this title. You'll really notice the neon signs (on the streets or the gas station), the vibrant yellows and oranges of the explosions, and the intense reds dominating - for example, the night club sequence - and doing so without any sign of bleeding. The film comes in two versions the directors and theatrical release, which is mainly about violence cuts, no narrative changes. All disc reviews at High-Def Digest are completed using the best consumer HD home theater products currently on the market.

Facial complexions are highly revealing with healthy, accurate tones in the entire cast, making this 4K video a marked improvement boasting a lovely cinematic appeal. The second platter also includes one of the notorious TV versions of the film too, albeit without much attention paid to image quality, which is to be expected. Among the bonus features are commentaries from Craven, stars Michael Berryman, Janus Blythe, Robert Houston, Susan Lanier and Dee Wallace, academic Mikel J.

To test their crime-eradicating cyborgs, the company leads street cop Alex Murphy into an armed confrontation with crime lord Boddicker so they can use his body to support their untested RoboCop prototype. It's gritty, grimy, and grainy, but boy do several shots look stunning, revealing a level of detail hitherto unseen, pulling in close to the very pores on the skin of the game cast; that healthy grain layer reminding you that whilst DNR must have been applied, it was done so tastefully and tactfully, and without robbing the print of any of its underlying textural minutiae. Dialogue is rendered with precision, largely disseminated across the frontal array, with a few more expansive crowded moments, whilst environmental and futuristic noises (there's a tremendous sound as Robocop whips open the boardroom doors in the final act) get prime placement, delivered cleanly and with resonance.

This Ultra HD Blu-ray set affords a pair of remarkable native 4K presentations - culled from the 4K restoration MGM did from the original camera negative a few years back - for both the theatrical and director's cuts, on separate discs no less, further blessed with Dolby Vision. Dialogue reproduction is pristine and precise at all times, and the low-end provides a welcomed oomph and mild impact that nicely and appropriately complements the visuals, making for an awesome object-based mix for an 80s cult action classic. and uses a Wide Colour Gamut (WCG), High Dynamic Range (and Dolby Vision) and is encoded using the HEVC (H.As he did years later with Starship Troopers, the Dutch filmmaker wonderfully balances camp and vulgarity for the blackest of comedic effect with the excessive displays of ultra-violence. His body is taken to megacorporation Omni Consumer Products, who revive him as the cyborg law enforcer RoboCop. It's to Peter Weller's amazing credit and talent, providing the needed emotional gravitas, that the character feels genuine and reminds us of the human element involved.

Paul Verhoeven's sci-fi masterpiece infuses 2000AD's Judge Dredd with 80's corporate greed for a darkly witty, brazenly violent, and still-resonant satire that is also a just about perfect future cop thriller. Explosions and gunfire aren’t always impactful, but the film sounds the way it always has without any additional sweetening or alterations. More Man Than Machine: Compositing RoboCop features interviews with composer Basil Poledouris and film music experts Jeff Bond, Lukas Kendall, Daniel Schweigter, and Robert Townson. This month, an all-time classic trilogy gets a lavish new box set, one of the pillars of science fiction cinema is shown in a whole new light, and one of horror’s gnarliest entries is given a scrub up and a fresh release. Besides being endlessly quotable, it’s also one of the most engaging action movies of the era and holds up remarkably next to other action blockbusters like Die Hard and Predator, but with a little more going on both underneath and on the surface. RoboProps features a tour of super-fan Julien Dumont’s collection of memorabilia (also giving us a peek at the dailies in his collection).

RoboCop - the kick-ass action sci-fi classic satire that we just can't get enough of is back on Blu-ray! Arrow Video’s Limited Edition and Steelbook 4K Ultra HD releases of RoboCop give the film plenty of added value with a bevy of bonus materials and a great transfer.Although crime rates are currently at the lowest in history, 'RoboCop' is a thoughtfully penetrating glimpse at the worst traits of modern society, making it an excellently enjoyable satire that remains as relevant today as ever before. Courtesy of Arrow Video, the 80s cult action classic transfers to 4K Ultra HD as a two-disc collector's package with an impressively beautiful Dolby Vision HDR presentation of both versions of the film and an awesome Dolby Atmos track.
