About this deal

I particularly like that the OSD buttons are mounted facing you: I generally prefer a joystick, but that’s simply because most manufacturers hide the buttons away, making them difficult to locate.

To provide USB-C connectivity with legacy devices without this port, all models also come with a detachable USB-C to USB-C/USB-A cable. These products are separated into the correct waste flow at our local depots and send directly to government approved WEEE recycling plants. Some persistence can appear in contrasting transitions, but it isn’t as bad as some VA panels we’ve seen.Tämä monitori sopii erinomaisesti myös pelaamiseen, sillä Adaptive Sync -tekniikka varmistaa tasaisen kokemuksen. Chief among these is that this monitor exhibits no backlight bleed and has good overall panel uniformity. This model is aimed at productivity and daily use, so it doesn’t offer specs related to entertainment like HDR emulation. Each of the new monitors employs USB-C connectivity for a single cable connection to laptops, tablets and mobile devices to simultaneously transfer the video signal, power and data to connected SSD or hard drives.

A detachable USB-C to USB-C / USB-A cable is included with the new AOC business monitor to enable USB-C connectivity with older devices without this port. About the Author: Paolo is a gaming veteran since the golden days of Doom and Warcraft and has been building gaming systems for family, friends, and colleagues since junior high. It's operated via four rather sombre and utilitarian buttons on the bottom edge of the display, giving you control over input selection, contrast, brightness, colour temperature, the picture-in-picture mode, and plenty more besides. The design is suitably smart: the matte black paint job, slim profile and barely-there bezels might be run of the mill for these kinds of monitors, but it’s still a pleasingly classy overall effect. On paper, the AOC U27P2CA is identical in almost every way to its sibling, the AOC Q27P2CA, but one: this monitor has a 4K panel, while the Q27P2CA settles for 1440p. In the box, you’ll find USB-C, DisplayPort and HDMI cables, alongside the power cable and assorted documentation. IPS panels have decent contrast, great colours and viewing angles and generally higher response times.

Our verdict is a simple one: If you need a straightforward, reasonably large monitor for work, and you’d rather not spend a fortune, the AOC Q27V4EA is a great choice. Contrast and brightness are both good, although the entry-level HDR 400 certification is best ignored – you won’t notice much of a change. Through a single slim cable, AOC USB-C technology powers up to 65W, charging conventional low/high power devices (such as your mouse or keyboard), smartphones and laptops. Therefore, a laptop can be used with just a single USB-C cable, and the display can be extended or shared with the monitor using the USB-C DisplayPort Alternate mode.

Panel uniformity for the AOC Q27P2Q sample could use some improvements since there are some backlight leaks along the top edge of the screen. The sweet spot for gaming at 1440p is 144Hz, whereas office workers can stick to the lower end at 60Hz or increasingly common 75Hz. Otherwise, you’re looking for whichever ports you need the most, whether that’s HDMI, DisplayPort or even VGA. Our business monitors meet the EPEAT, TCO or Energy Star requirements and are made from 85% recycled plastics.
