Adam from whom Mina is separated, has dark secrets which also have put the family into danger so they are facing peril from two sides. Four agents were killed and a number of them were wounded, and six of David Koresh’s followers were killed as well. Mina Holbrook is part of the cabin crew for the first non-stop flight from London to Sydney since 1989. I’m pretty sure I’d kill if it meant protecting my children…but strand me in the wilderness and I’d likely perish from eating the wrong berries.

HOSTAGE is a page-turning thriller that delivers entertainment value and up-all-night-reading tension and suspense. She's trying to focus on the task in hand, and not worry about her troubled five-year-old daughter back at home with her husband. One day, desperate to get away from the simmering tension at home, Mina begs a coworker at the airline she works for to trade shifts with her. Sophia was adopted and had some challenging behavioral problems associated with her life before she was adopted. I loved the tantalizing insights these chapters provide into the strangers on board Mina’s plane, and I similarly loved the little hints Mackintosh doles out through these chapters that not everyone on the plane can be trusted.
