About this deal

It was one of the reasons why Yooka-Laylee took so long to arrive, and also why RiME didn’t turn out quite so well. For example, the frigid mountainous peaks Ori must breeze past on gusts of wind are littered with crisscrossing splintered alpine timber and pointed icicles that reach out to jab and poke from frozen overhangs. This is a truly challenging roguelike Metroidvania, and it's widely considered one of the best Nintendo Switch games you can grab if you're a fan of the genre. Ori and the Will of the Wisps is an excellent heartfelt follow-up that pushes the series to new heights. Despite this, their work impressed Microsoft from an early stage and it didn’t hesitate in signing a publishing deal.

To be able to purchase content for Wii U or Nintendo 3DS family systems, your funds usable through the Nintendo Account must be merged with the funds tied to your Nintendo Network ID. That said keeping space for exploring melancholy and the darker side of life to some degree can be important too. The game is amazing and Switch is my preferred platform to play such games and I felt the need to support the Nintendo-Microsoft collaboration and the wonderful job they did with the port ! Ori and the Blind Forest runs on the Unity engine, which has a history of performance issues on Nintendo’s device. Unveiling a world which is dark in colour scheme yet much lighter in tone, this game is a candidate for the prettiest 2D platformer of all time.We felt like combat was something that was a bit absent in the last game, so we really wanted to nail it this time,' he said. As the first completely-new (non-remake) 2D Metroid game to be developed in 19 years, there was a lot riding on Metroid Dread. Sling BladeYou’ll start with the fast-slashing Spirit Edge sword which functions as a basic attack – until, that is, you’re offered optional alternatives like that hefty, slow-swinging Spirit Smash and explosive ranged elements like the Spirit Spike that hurls a massive lance of energy toward an opponent at the cost of a lot of energy. Actually, I understand why you don't use the 10 if you rate the games in the following way: Hollow Knight = 8. It's completely valid as an artistic choice, and a lot of the best art we consume goes in that direction.

Ori and the Blind Forest will even log into your Microsoft account – the same one used on the Xbox, and it can be strange seeing your Xbox icon on the title screen. Despite a long and unique development, the game was well-received when it was initially released on the Xbox One in 2015, with the only casualty along the way being a mooted Xbox 360 version. There's plenty of fun uplifting games for me; from just about everything Nintendo makes to Dragon Quest to Ni No Kuni.

Ori doesn’t appeal to me from what I’ve seen so far due to its vibe, but from all the rave reviews I think I’ll give it a shot as well. And that’s really the best praise you can give a sequel - it stays true to the spirit of the original, doubles down on what made it great, and gives you more stake in the world and options to navigate it. Stunning visuals, powerful and beautiful soundtrack, Ori controls just like Ori and no other, performance at 60fps 1080p, nothing else to complain. And there’s usually something worthwhile on the other side of these small errands: a bit of currency, a collectible item, a hearty thank you, and sometimes it’s just the devastating realization that you can’t save everyone. Post-launch support has added an easy mode and a hard more, so you can tweak the experience to your liking. In that same vein of grounding us in a living place, Ori and the Will of the Wisps introduces a kind of central hub village where many of your new critter friends end up once you’ve completed a task for them. Can't wait to also get this on Switch, but I honestly hope for a physical release too, would be nice to have the wonderful artwork that went along with it! It’s not always there and is used occasionally to draw the player's attention without Ori themselves noticing what is happening. Fortunately, the game was a success and in our review, we found that it was "easily one of the highlights for the Nintendo Switch library. It is a bit of a surprise to see this game make its way to the Nintendo Switch, but we’re glad that it has.

The opening prologue was heartwarming and heart wrenching but when the gameplay started, it felt like one of the many atmospheric puzzle platforms that dominated the indie scene last gen and just kept on making me want to stop playing.

You need to equip a charm to show your exact location which I always had to do as I'm terrible at navigating. There are many Shantae games available on the Nintendo Switch, but our favorite is her recent outing. Here, you’ll speak with merchants to purchase or upgrade abilities and turn in collectibles to community leaders who will, in turn, make improvements throughout the village that unlock new options. This game is absolutely beautiful so naturally I really want to play it over and over, but when I try to, it doesn’t take long for me to feel utterly depressed by it. Kudos therefore to Video Games Plus for being the first and only retailer in Canada so far to list these titles (as standard retail editions).
