Previous experiments bleed all over the album, warped electronics, brazen hooks and maudlin melodies while Yorke turns the screw on the human psyche. If you want to demonstrate how good vinyl can sound, play Side C of this record - Reckoner and House Of Cards both sound absolutely phenomenal. It does sound more quintessentially 'analogue', but in the literal definition of high fidelity, it seems coloured and lacking somewhat. After breifly listening back and forth with the first 45rpm double lp original pressing, I can briefly say that the OG pressing sounds miles ahead better than this version. It's a shame we don't know who at Record Industry cut the vinyl as they deserve a huge amount of credit.

At times it’s hard not wince in familiarity yet he is not wallowing in self-pity, he is human and articulate and unfortunately for us, we know where he’s coming from. Record box manufactured by Clear Sound And Vision (credited as "Record box produced by Clear Sound + Vision" on release. This album includes "Nude", a live favourite for many years that was originally written during the "OK Computer" sessions. Incredibly hard to figure out which pressing it is though; matrix on Side A is 156455E1/D (swear to god) and label says Made in Europe (which it doesn’t in these images). Beyond all that, the rendering between the acoustic, electric and digitally-created sounds is impeccable and palpable.This version is EXACTLY the same as the original entry, with one distinct exception: Record One has Side One pressed on both sides, as described in the tracklisting.

From being mostly a jazz listener and former drummer, I love when you can hear the stick head strike the surface of the ride cymbal. My copy has exact same matrix number as this 2017 US version (Side A: 156455E1/B XLLP 324 / Side B: 156455E2/D XLLP 324), same front and back cover and inner sleeve as well, BUT BUT BUT.A routinely great artist, much of Sufjan's universal appeal comes from his skills as a gifted narrator, pairing personal musings on love and devotion with commentary on American culture, whilst welding folk and electronica, the ambient and existential. I'm sure some will say this is the essence of vinyl reproduction but to me good vinyl exceeds digital on clarity and insight. The box contains the album on both two 45 RPM 12" vinyl records, and on CD, along with a second, enhanced CD containing eight audio tracks, artwork and photos.
