About this deal

This unit employs a pre-infusion process, which soaks the ground beans a little before blasting them with the high-pressure water. But what this slightly more manual approach gives you is fine control – so you can really dial in the perfect cup for you, and ultimately, this approach will result in better coffee. The hot water dispenser will provide you with instant hot water, great for black coffees, while the 6 cup warming tray will make sure a cold cup doesn’t detract from your enjoyment.

The Sage Barista Express is one of Sage's game-changing espresso machines, and I say “one of” because this is what Sage does, but the “game-changing” comment, where the Barista Express is concerned, comes from the fact that it was the first commercially successful integrated grinder traditional espresso machine. Yeah you can use the timer on your scales or a separate timer, but I much prefer to use a machine that has a shot timer, it just makes things easier. The Barista Express™ allows you to grind the beans right before extraction, and its interchangeable filters and a choice of automatic or manual operation ensure authentic café style results in no time at all. The Razor™ precision dose trimming tool allows you to trim the puck to the right level for a consistent extraction. If you were thinking of going for the Barista Express because you thought it was ultra convenient for getting great cup quality using freshly roasted high quality coffee beans, and you're hoping for a user experience closer to using a one-touch bean to cup coffee machine, then the Barista Touch Impress would be the obvious choice. The Sage Barista Express BES875UK benefits from a quality build and some clever little design tricks and features. It'll then take you into the first use tutorial, which is similar but more in-depth than the barista guidance you'll get when using it on a daily basis.

We are committed to offering the best value to our members, with a satisfaction guarantee on both your membership and merchandise.Whether you could get away with using the Barista Express for your business would depend on how many coffees you think you’ll be selling per day, and how busy you might be in one short period of time. It’s been a little while since we reviewed a bean to cup machine, but I recently came into possession of this Barista Express BES875UK machine by Sage – so thought I’d best put it through its paces and see how it performed. Insert the portafilter into the group head and rotate the handle towards the centre until resistance is felt. The barista express allows you to grind the beans right before extraction, and its interchangeable filters and a choice of automatic or manual operation ensure authentic café style results in no time at all. This is why I'm such a fan of Sage coffee machines in general because they're all about getting the best possible results from freshly roasted coffee beans.

Even if you are correctly using the water filter provided, we recommend you to descale when you see scale build-up in the water tank.

Don't do what I've heard of some doing, though, and take the internal grind to the finest setting from day one, because you'll just end up with the burrs hitting each other (which makes a slightly disconcerting strained motor sound), which isn't great. Be hands on like a barista with manual microfoam milk texturing to deliver authentic results in no time at all. If hard water is used it is recommended to descale once a month, if soft water is used once a quarter is sufficient.
