About this deal

But she quickly gets to exploring this town, and meeting all the locals and their businesses, and soon enough viv finds many different kinds of adventures that will keep her busy while she waits for rackam to come back for her. Feeling less foul, she limped toward the door, but each thud of her heel against the floor pulsed black at the edges of her vision.

Viv caught him watching her devour the food from the other end of the bar and tried to slow down, but the potatoes were salty and rich with the egg, and it was hard not to shovel it in without pausing.

Last but not least, Gallina, Viv's friend from the first book, is also in Murk and we get to find out how the two of them met and what their relationship was like before they teamed up. And it turns out there's no better activity when recovering from an injury than reading a good book. She is the one who invited Viv into the cult that is literature and shows her where true happiness lies: books.

It attaches a fascinating history to her as each person she comes across in Murk changes her, some only in little ways, others in big ones. A long bar ran along the back wall, and the tavernkeep leaned against it, idly cleaning a copper mug. Our beloved orc, Viv, gets injured whilst her and the other mercenaries are pursuing a powerful necromancer. However, reading our unspoken emotions and words written by other authors eloquently, or feelings spoken by characters who feel the same passion about reading, can feel good.

I wish I could love this series the way everyone else seems to, but I guess I need to accept being the odd one out here. we even get to see little parts of the books that viv is reading because of fern’s recommendations and i was obsessed every time! A fun little prequel to Legends and Lattes, Viv is still in her adventuring days but is forced to take some time off after rather annoyingly being stabbed. Also, it's hard to be hooked on Viv's new relationship when you know it's a prequel, so it cannot last. It does the impossible: showing us a character twenty years before her story, and making us hold our breath to see what happens next. Adventure and danger do, it's true, come to the town in the end and Viv plays her part in defeating it, but I was pleased to see that Viv's success was due as much or more to the friendships she's made as to her fighting prowess (in contrast to the episode at the start where she fails just because she tries to do it all herself).
