About this deal

Here at Twinkl, we know how hard it can be to find high quality resources that slot neatly into your lesson plans. Manufacturer warranties are as provided by the manufacturer at the time of print and are subject to variation. Geoboards were invented and popularized in the 1950s by Egyptian mathematician Caleb Gattegno (1911-1988). Geoboards are a visual way for children to grasp the basics of maths principles including geometry, symmetry, angles, fractions, and more through fun, hands-on learning activities. Using a Geoboard helps students visualise the shapes they are creating, and plotting them on the Geoboard gives them a better understanding of how each shape is made up, as well as how each side or length of a shape relates to each other.

Learners stretch bands around the pegs to form line segments and polygons and make discoveries about perimeter, area, angles, congruence, fractions, and more. Exact size may vary, please also note they are not always completely round, and again whilst I will try my best to supply you with a perfect log slices due to it's nature there may be slight imperfections and loose bark. What’s more, our maths resources will not only suit your children or pupil’s learning styles, but they’ll suit your teaching style, too! Two-dimensional representations of the geoboard may be applied to ordinary paper using rubber stamps or special "geoboard paper" with diagrams of geoboards may be used to help capture a student's explanations of the concept they have discovered or illustrated on the geoboard. These colorful isometric 9″ (23cm) square geoboards are double-sided with an 11 x 11 pin grid array on one side and an 11 x 11 triangular pin array on the other. The log slices are as smooth as is possible, you can either use it as it is or smooth down more by sanding.
