About this deal
The scent starts quite intense, but do not worry about this, after approximate 1 hour it turns to a creamy smoky vanilla amber scent. Now the scent I must admit gets a bit too dark and dense for me in the dry down, it's still good though especially the opening which I absolutely love!
Because I'm a practical man and not a collector, I both love and hate this scent as it has instantly made most of my entire fragrance collection obsolete. Picture Back to Black without the powder, Absolue pour le Soir without the skank, and Interlude Man without the oregano—it’s somewhere between those three and performs just as forcefully. Top notes are Basil, Incense and Fruits; middle notes are Vanilla and Woodsy Notes; base notes are Amber and Cambodian Oud.While cardamom (listed in one version of the perfume’s notes) can occasionally take on a cocoa powder nuance, I’m detecting something more genuinely chocolate-y in tone. What is the luxury version of this, there must be something that smells like this but 10x more luxurious, and more expensive, and does anybody know if there is something that smells like this with a tiny bit of smokiness, (not tobacco or cigarettes, but like you go out and there is the snell of burnt wood/paper in the atmosphere or a distant BBQ sought of smoke), this one of my favourites. There aren’t really any in-depth, detailed reviews for Sehr el Kalemat that I can provide for comparative purposes.
There are plenty of other amber vanilla scents that are blended better and in some cases can be had for a lot cheaper, like Scentstory 24 Gold. Some perfumes are an immediate love affair, some are immediate hate, a few can result in total apathy or boredom, but many take a few tries for you to make up your mind.I avoid to spray it on coats or jackets because the stuff will stick to the garments for days ruining my chances of enjoying a real perfume.
