About this deal

Myles has been nominated for several BAFTA awards, including two BAFTA Film Awards for Best British Short Animation (2009, 2019), and two BAFTA Children's Awards (2009, 2011). You guys are such a force for good and I am a passionate supporter of Indie booksellers, so I'm so happy this worked out well (I'd love to know how many books were sold if you have it to hand - it felt like quite a lot! Well, obviously, Knight Sir Louis and his chums Clunkie the robot horse, Pearlin the Wizentor, Mr Catalogue the talking boar, and Dave the sword with a hat. My youngest read this in one sitting and insisted that we use this in our book boxes - it's laugh-out-loud silly, entirely original and brilliantly illustrated.

Time for Knight Sir Louis to step up again, but oh dear, King Burt the Not Bad has banished his knight and appointed the not-quite-as-charming-as-he-seems Squire now Knight Sir Lyme in his place. With the slimy Sir Lyme in the palace and feeding everyone his apparently endless supply of gummy sweets, Louis sets off to find out what’s going on. He's battled the Dragon of Doooooom (a fierce two-headed dragon), the Damsel of Distresse (stealing the kingdom's coins of gold, silver and chocolate) – but now he's stuck in the Kingdom of Puzzles, and needs YOU to help him out. This had me snorting throughout, it’s a quirky quest story about a knight on a mission to protect the kingdom of King Burt from all kinds of nasty threats. As Knight Sir Louis embarks on a quest to save the kingdom you’ll meet ogres, witches, a two headed dragon, a slime sorcerer’s apprentice and my favourites; a pair of most unusual librarians who inhabit a LIBRARY SHAPED LIKE A BRAIN!I haven't charted out my visits for the summer term, but I'm sure there are several in the south) and thanks so much for being so fantastic! The third in the hilarious series about Knight Sir Louis - a calm courageous hero in a rather bonkers world - this time battling with his friends against the terrifying Sorcerer of Slime. Guppy Books is an independent children’s publisher based in Oxford in the UK, publishing exceptional fiction for children of all ages. Knight Sir Louis is an epic non-epic saga ‘Stewart Lee, comedian’ A really funny book … will appeal to anyone who likes adventures and laughing’ Philip Reeve ‘What a hero!

He has defeated hungry dragons, evil goblins and horrible wizards (but please nobody mention wasps, Knight Sir Louis is absolutely NOT afraid of them). Louis is convinced that Lyme isn’t quite as charming as he makes out and once more, is certainly not up to the task of combatting the Wild Forest Ogres, who are planning an attack. Yesterday a parent came over to tell me how impressed she was by the book fair and that you did a fabulous job of selling the books to the children first.Beautifully illustrated fantasy adventure, brimming with ludicrous magic and fizzing with irresistible comedy. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

I found so many appealing aspects in Knight Sir Louis and the Sorcerer of Slime that I will be donating my gifted review copy to a local Year 4 classroom where I am sure that it is going to provide many hours of reading enjoyment. Louis rides off to the legendary Brrrrrland with his friends Catalogue and Clunkalot, but waiting for them are goofy goblins, a talking carrot and the biggest meanest snowball in the whole wide world. They come first and it is essential to put the right book into the hands of every child to encourage them to read for pleasure.
