About this deal

Lionsgate Films UK is preparing a Blu-ray release of Kevin Smith's Clerks III (2022), starring Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Rosario Dawson, Jeff Anderson, and Brian O'Halloran. This standard Blu-ray looks best you could ask for, sharp, good color saturation and plenty of easy to see details, patterns and textures. Featuring Rosario Dawson, a host of celebrity cameos, and Smith’s signature humor, CLERKS III is a hilarious and nostalgic capstone to the CLERKS legacy – nearly thirty years in the making. Paramount chose not to employ additional color correction, but instead consulted original IB Technicolor prints and matched the look from there.

On one hand, director Kevin Smith could be accused of trotting out the old hits like Foreigner playing a state fair. When we last saw BFFs Dante (Brian O’Halloran) and Randall (Jeff Anderson) 16 years ago, the former intended to marry hot girlfriend Becky (Rosario Dawson). We’ve gotten our hands on Paramount’s new 4K Ultra HD release of War of the Worlds (1953) and unfortunately there’s a problem with the color grade. The acting is as uneven as ever, but Clerks III has its heart in the right place, and if you’re part of its intended audience, you’ll enjoy the ride. Starring Brian O’Halloran, Jeff Anderson, Trevor Fehrman, Austin Zajur, Jason Mewes, Rosario Dawson, and Kevin Smith. This Company does not however exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence. Speaking at his annual Hall-H panel at San Diego Comic-Con this year, Smith pulled back the curtain for attendees and confirmed that Clerks III really came about because home media sales for Jay and Silent Bob Reboot were enormous. In the closing of the second film, he pretty much alluded to just staying in his comfort zone and doing what he knows best and being at peace with that.

It’s not a mind-blowing surround experience by any means and doesn’t do much for the overhead speakers, but the majority of the Atmos track offers consistently pleasing dialogue exchanges and excellent low end support for music and score. And in fact an awareness of mortality if not the actual Spirit of Death suffuses this piece and gives it a rather bracingly melancholic aspect. It’s a frequently entertaining commentary with Smith primarily in the driver’s seat, with O’Halloran and Fehrman piped in via Skype/Zoom. With more of a push toward human characters and less of a focus on pop culture references and/or dick jokes, I should applaud Smith for this apparent growth as a filmmaker. Updated daily and in real-time, we track all high-def disc news and release dates, and review the latest disc titles. It’s clearly a case of Smith having looked back on his film career following his heart attack and constructed his own love letter to his work.

They’ve also just released Abe Lincoln in Illinois (1940) on Blu-ray for the first time mastered from a new 4K scan of the best surviving nitrate film elements. s “Clerks” had a very appropriate ending, offering a sudden resolution to a crude comedy that was more about scenes than a narrative journey. It comes to Blu-ray for the first time with a pleasant presentation that features a healthy bitrate and a strong encode, even if the visuals aren’t always that impressive. Kevin Smith's Clerks III has not received a wide enough release in theaters to satisfy demand, but Blu-ray and Digital releases are about to swoop in and pick up the slack. Low Frequency Extension: The subwoofer hits the bass and drum in the music in the film as does well by door slamming, punches and more thumping noises in the mix.By the time Randal's movie is done, and the audience gets a glimpse at some of the footage, it's clear that something really special has been captured both in- and out-of-story. I should preface this by stating my opinion that Clerks II is the best-looking film in the series, with a slightly desaturated but highly organic look that the other two films just don’t have, which is how I measure the presentation of Clerks III. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. Too much pandering and winking at the audience for my tastes, and the writing just isn't there for me. It was such a simple joke, but I was howling when one of the characters went "You can't just make normal people into movie stars" and then it immediately cut to Jay and Silent Bob walking into the Quickstop.

It’s a well-framed film with a nice range of hues, but it tends to appear flat with variable flesh tones and merely decent black levels. Regardless, it’s becoming readily apparent that Paramount has a quality control (QC) issue that needs to be addressed going forward. And to Smith’s credit, he doesn’t sit and harp on those “better days” a lot in the third Clerks film, but focuses on how that is evolving around our two protagonists. Footnote: at the 97-minute mark, Smith offers some narration to discuss the actual Quick Stop and his experiences. dba Freestar (“Freestar”) for the purposes of placing certain advertising on the site, and Freestar will collect and use certain data for advertising purposes.

Clerks was a one-to-one reflection of his life working at Quick Stop Groceries, putting forth the idea that he could do bigger and better things.
