About this deal

Out-of-the-box, their sound profile is a little boomy, but mids and treble are quite well reproduced. Fans of a bass-heavy sound may appreciate the HAPTIC's haptic bass slider, although if you're using it on a somewhat high setting, it can bleed into the mic. That said, that boominess can serve to amplify the intensity of sound effects in your favorite action-heavy games. Although wired (I should point out a wireless version is also available, but that’s gonna take a little more of your dough), the cable is reinforced with rubber brackets on either side to protect against gradual tearing, and is plenty generous in length. The Corsair VOID RGB Elite have a somewhat boomy and muddy default sound profile, in no small part due to their uneven bass.

Testing the mic/headset with my phone was just dandy-o too, albeit, again, with occasional reports that I was “too loud. There’s a fair bit of distortion present in the low-bass and most of the treble range at moderate volume levels, but the rest of the frequency spectrum falls within decent limits, particularly from the high-bass to mid-mid ranges. That’s followed by an overemphasized high-bass, which generates boominess and muddiness in some tracks. Some mention that it fits nicely, while others say that it's too big on even the smallest adjustment.Features an on-ear volume and mute controls enable on-the-fly adjustments without distracting you from your game. At the bottom of the trackable position options the mic felt way too close to my mouth to be comfortable, but anyplace higher and it utterly obscured my field of view. However, the Corsair provide a more consistent listening experience, have a more feature-rich companion app, and offer wired audio and microphone support without worrying about running out of battery, so long as you're using a system that supports USB audio. It is also multi-platform, compatible with PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and mobile devices via a universal 3.

Though advertised as featuring a mic that’s adjustable, unless you dig gaming with the mic so close to your mouth your mates can hear mouth-breathing and/or what you had for dinner — or by your nose, for which you’ll be dominating the chat with your nasal noises — it really isn’t. You may experience significant deviation in terms of bass reproduction, especially if you wear glasses or have long hair. That said, the VOID provide a slightly more consistent listening experience and flashier looks, with a customizable RGB lighting scheme, if that's your preference. It’s certainly long enough for you to pop your phone in your pocket, your headset on your head, and not worry about contorting your body into appropriate shapes in-between.

They feature low-latency wired audio, feel reasonably comfortable, and deliver a fairly immersive listening experience. We tested the Corsair VOID RGB Elite, which utilizes a USB-A connector for audio and features RGB lighting on the side plates.

On the other hand, the VOID have a wired connection that eliminates the worry of running out of battery and a marginally more comprehensive control scheme. If their out-of-the-box sound profile isn’t to your liking, you can customize it via a graphic EQ or presets in the Corsair iCUE companion app.

They also have a detachable boom mic that reduces their overall size and gives them a more casual look. Though I didn’t personally experience any issues, the headset is heavier than any I’ve used in the past, which might be tiresome if you’re prepping for a long gaming session. On the one hand, the sound is seemingly superior, but I had nothing but problems using the headset whilst in Party Chat. They’re also quite bulky and don’t clamp the head very tightly, meaning that they’ll slip off your ears during even very light exercise. Powerful CORSAIR iCUE software ties everything together, enabling full control over equalizer settings, 7.An uneven spike in the mid-treble range, meanwhile, causes some notes to sound overly bright and piercing. That’s why I got all excited when the chance to check out Corsair’s VOID Stereo Gaming Headset came up.
