About this deal

The first part of the book teaches you about the basics--the fundamentals of light, color, exposure, and electricity--that are the building blocks of lighting. Finally, and this is tough to explain, but while reading this I had to wonder, is all representation good representation? Of course they are able to work things out in the end, but I really enjoyed the journey of both of them dealing with ongoing addiction recovery and facing their estranged families and pasts. An added perk is that this is the first in a series, and so the reader can get in on the ground floor. if you loved one last stop, then this is definitely a book for you, from the characters to the vibrant new york setting to the tender portrayal of queer identity.

But everything starts to go awry and one murder follows another, as everything that can go wrong - does! When she shows up in class, it creates an ethical/professional problem for them both, but especially for Wyatt. It's clear that the author knows about addiction and Judaism, as those are the parts that the most care and attention were placed on, but it was at the cost of everything else feeling sketched in.Regardless, if a cozy mystery with a grand swath of farce is your cup of tea, then this book is definitely for you. Humor is a highly personal thing, so while this didn’t work for me, there may be others who find it hilarious. A one-night stand turned forced proximity/forbidden romance between an Art photography Professor and his up and coming student had soo much chemistry and all the feels! Lee ( A Lesson in Vengeance) spins a profoundly emotional love story that takes its themes of addiction, faith, and art as seriously as it does its romantic arc. Soldier through the start as she sets up her characters and puts the story in motion, because once she is on a tear there is no stopping her, and then she’s funny as hell.

As fascinating and well rendered as all that is, going back to my first point there’s a real lack of relationship development and intimacy building and traditional romance structure in the way that i think many romance lovers will be accustomed to. Some aspects of it were slow for me I think because of a huge role religion played in Ely’s life and I just don’t like religion in novels (based off my personal experience w it), but that didn’t put me off of it at all. Hi Fructose magazine describes them as "Photographs drenched in emotionality, [they] convey a spontaneity and improvisation based on downright trust of the photographer, a kind of illicit intimacy rarely captured".But this book loses its way really quickly and doesn't know what it wants to be which causes it to be irritating at best. However, despite his reputation as a radio presenter and criminal expert, it is obvious that there is still crime in Brighton and nothing much is being done about it. Fast forward to 1957, Steine is still wallowing in the glory of 1951, taking all the credit for the removal of so many villains in one fell swoop, but he’s a completely incompetent copper, can’t even see what’s right under his nose - his sidekick Brunswick is ambitious and has more idea, but then again he’s not the sharpest tool in the box.

after almost a decade following her getaway from new york and disgraced exile from the orthodox community she grew up in - elisheva cohen is finally back.Disclaimer: I received a review copy for free via NetGalley, but I am voluntarily leaving my honest review. We start off by following Ely when she arrives in New York for summer school, meets her new roommates, and comes to a queer club with them. This pitch-perfect queer NYC romance between a trans man and a pan, ex-Orthodox Jewish woman exceeded all my expectations!

Oh and the sex scenes (first one mostly) were extremely well-done and respectful of Wyatt's trans identity. Both characters also yearn to be fully themselves despite both having muddy pasts, but that desire to be better reads so strongly on the page. The first half focuses on the identity of the burglar and their modus operandi and a well-conceived plot is presented as a entertaining series of consecutive bungling discoveries. Since this is a romance novel you won't be surprised to learn that it is revealed the next morning that he is her teacher. I loved both the MCs as they grapple with family trauma and past addictions (both are recovering addicts).
