So the 1617 is not a true lift because it's first adjustment (the large adjustment) is made under the table, however it can be micro adjusted (only when unlocked) and that is the only adjustment made above the table, even though you have to go back under to lock it after micro adjustment? Not too heavy and no vibrations which is especially important as a female user as I'm able to easily control the feed rate. This current project is a good example- speaker cabinet front panels fabricated from hard rock maple ply.I noticed it sounded like the router was trying to adjust the RPM/speed and then would just turn off. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. It may be a heating issue or a vibration issue that they would not have come across in "normal" reconditioning.

HP (Max) Variable-Speed Palm Router, (1) PR101 Fixed Base, (1) PR111 Plunge Base, (1) PR102 Straight-Edge Guide, (1) PR114 1/4 In.

Mine has been used primarily in a router table with a home made router lift, never had an issue with any C ring. Some big bits won't fit in a base that accommodates the PC bushings but your usage might not require that. I also purchased the dust collector for my Bosch 1617, but haven’t tried it yet , so cant critique its dust collecting capability yet . If you have a bad back and a enclosed router table and use your router daily, a lift may be worth the money to you.
