About this deal

I also loved the way she transformed over the course of the book into a woman who knew what she wanted - or didn't want - and wasn't afraid to go for it. They are flawed, and make some major mistakes- but Eliah so wonderfully leans into their humanity, and their youth. Finn and Xavier pulled a prank with stink bombs and got in trouble, Xav took the blame since it was his idea.

Our two leads are Aveena and Xavier (by the way how do authors always think of the best names and/or cute nicknames- just how? Vee is so done and leaves, as she should, I loved how she texted him and told him she saw Lacey and him making out. The author couldn’t sell the i-would-rather-stay-in-than-go-out attitude for the heroine and honestly it just made her kind of pathetic because we also have the “my sister gets more attention than me” plotline going on. She is so angry she pens a hateful letter to said teacher and accidentally leaves the letter in the book and leaves the book in the library.

There are some big moments I wished would have been more fleshed out instead of dropped on us without a foundation being laid, and some aspects of the story and secondary plot lines felt rushed, making the pacing a bit off. For starters, I got this recommendation from tictok after someone posted an excerpt about the main characters starting their love affair through letters shared in a book and I was like, "oh my goodness that sounds cute" the post even said that there was 10 out of 10 spice but both of those assumptions were wrong. Vee found out from a coworker that Xav keeps visiting the library for the poetry book, realizing Xav is Zac. Vee and Xavier's lives are so intertwined outside of their pen pal relationship, and the more time they spend together, the more they learn about one another, the stronger the feelings grow.

When she goes back to get the letter before someone reads it and ruins her scholarship deal (ofcourse), she finds a letter left for her. When the female lead's younger sister is dealing with domestic abuse and violence their solution is they just want the situation to be over and to let it go, even at the point where the same abuser drugs and tries to assault the female lead. This is the first book I’ve read by Eliah Greenwood and it was so good I’ve been running on 4 hours of sleep for three days now. Storyline; there was no character development and if you think that you will get a lot of letters being passed on then you are mistaken. She dog-sits/housesits for the summer, thinking she's going to be all alone with this adorable golden retriever in a big fancy house. He can text shit like this, but he couldn’t text Vee when Brie threatened him and left her hanging for days after he said he loved her and promised they would be in this together.

i liked Aveena’s character because she was a really realistic character at the beginning who is in highschool and trying to find herself, dealing with problems but then she becomes so stupid at the end ugh. Xav saw her and offered her a ride and when she hesitated, he said he’ll drive along with her if she doesn’t get in which was sweet. I logged into to this account after years just to save the poor souls that might think reading this is a good idea. Though so many books like these have the characters behaving more like thirty year olds than high school students. The only reason I say it’s new adult rather than young adult is because there is sex, partying, etc. This girl literally didnt even spare her bff and judged the fuck out of her throughout the whole book and showed herself as a saint but then when it comes to her heartbreak. Those who know me very well, know that high school and college bully romance are my favorite tropes.

E o Xavier é o capitão do time de basquete popular que namora a cheerleader, centrado e que conseguirá bolsa para a faculdade. I have not read anything Cynthia author before but intend to follow her now and seek out more of her work. She was able to discover new things about herself while learning love and strengthening friendships as well as gaining friendships as well. I’m sitting here waiting for explanations but Vee is making out with Xav to see if he’s still attracted to her.

This book was told in dual points of view via duet narration and was narrated by Michelle Sparks and Lucas Allen. When her debut gathered 31,000,000 reads on the platform, she decided to self-publish the trilogy that set so many hearts, including hers, on fire. They can finally move on, but nah Vee decides to protect Xav even though she suffered a helluva lot more. It’s so sad, this had a very promising start and I was entertained, but I am exhausted and hate Xav.
